Cruising the Dream on our 1st cruise ever!!! (5 Night Double Dip)

Wonderful update and we love these types of rooms, they have them on other cruise lines as well... Called different names but still there.

Were your loungers heated? The last ones I tried were and it was amazing to be all warm in your robe and read and sleep and what ever...

Thanks so much for your excellent review of the Rainforest Room

I found it difficult to picture it from other people's descriptions

Can you wear your flip flops in there?

I've pre-purchased a day pass but don't seem to be able to find a way of pre-purchasing a length of cruise pass

Now I've seen your pictures I want one!

Can you buy a length of cruise pass once you are on the ship?

Perhaps I can upgrade my day pass?

Thank you :)

Yes about flip flops, and they provide some in the locker rooms if you didnt bring any.

Corinna buys the full length pass every time they go and she says you can't prepurchase it, you'll need to do that when you get on the ship. I would either cancel your day passes or take them when you go to buy the full length pass and I'm sure they would upgrade them for you. You do receive little tickets on your embarkation day that you need to take to redeem.

We will definitely be getting full length passes on future cruises. It was a wonderful place to relax.

Thank you :) yes, they were heated and they were so wonderful! I'm sure I would have fallen asleep if I hadn't been writing in my journal. It was such a relaxing couple of hours.

Ah, those rooms look so relaxing right now. I'm sitting here, freezing my butt off, wishing I could partake in a sauna right now. So I know that they temperatures are the biggest difference between the three saunas. Is that basically it? The layout/views/etc, were the same right?

verrandah question for you or anyone wanting to answer....are they thru and thru or is there a plexiglass covering the open areas? Like can you stick things (like a 4 yo) through the slats? Just thought of this as I was looking at pics but it doesn't say anywhere that I can find and that would be a huge deciding factor for me as to whether I go with a verandah for our trip or not:scared1:

Thank you for all the info, I knew you would know :) I think the couples pass was $90 on this one. I hope they have a good deal on the Hawaii cruise. You leave in two weeks! I forgot to mention the DVC guy Amile will be on there with you as one of the DVC representatives. He was quite excited.

Somehow the name rings a bell. I think he may have been on one of our previous cruises, too.

Corinna

Thanks, I will take my day pass with me on the first day and ask if I can upgrade it or if not just buy a 7 day pass
It looks wonderful :)

Oh no, they're all totally different, one is a wet sauna, like water goes on hot rocks to make steam, another a dry sauna, and the third is complete different I just can't remember what the CM said. And the insides are completely different. Only one has a window, the other two are nice little rooms. Each one is a unique experience.

Not to worry, there is plexi glass. The only thing that could happen is a chair could be dragged to the edge. But there's no way a child could open the door on their own, it is very heavy, and you can dead bolt it where they can't reach.

AWESOME news...what I wanted to hear! Thanks NOW to decide!!!

Nice spa update:goodvibes I loved the Dream spa&the Elemis products. I ended up buying the Marine ProCollegen cream after my facial. Your pics were great.

AWESOME! :cool1::banana::cool1: Which itinerary? You can't leave me hanging like that!

You might like it better, 8A is a 'Family' size stateroom which has a little more room, and has a round tub which I've heard people really like for kids.

Congratulations!

Thank you :) I don't know why I didn't even try the lotion, I'm sure it is a wonderful line of products.

We are just doing the 3 night but will have the day before the cruise and a week after at the parks. I think my son is still more into park stuff than beachy sightseeing stuff at this point. If i had my way we'd be on a 14 nighter in Europe! haha. Besides we are doing APs starting with our 13 night Christmas trip and also want to get in an Oct 2013 trip for his birthday so I want to get my money worth of those APs with park days hehe

Does anyone know if there are ever PINs for cruises? Not that I ever get PINs anyways (nor could I use em being with DVC) but we didn't use points for the cruise....hmmm that would be AWESOME :worship:

Stephanie, please forgive me, I totally didn't connect your announcement with our previous conversation when you already told me your plans. I must be loosing it. Where are you planning to book the WDW parts? I understand about wanting to get your moneys worth on the APs. I'm doing that same thing this year. I think I've heard of people getting PINS for cruises, but I have no idea how that happens.

Pam- no worries, I didn't go back to scrutinize what I wrote, for all I know in my old age I may not have even said it! :rotfl2:

Since it will be a May trip I can't book til June of this year, we will do AKV my "home" so I can do it at the 11 mo mark. Stupid thing is the 1 day before the cruise I can book on June 8 (since it is May 8 ;) ) and then I have to wait til the 12th to book the week after :crazy2: ANd yeh, I have to do it right at 11 mo or I will go NUTS worrying that I may lose our pre-cruise room by what, 4 days :lmao:

I'm sorry everyone, I tried to do an update last night but photobucket was going so slow I gave up.

After taking advantage of the showers in the locker room we traded back our rainforest keys for our key cards and went for some lunch at Flos V-8 Cafe.

Every day there was two different meat pizzas, two different veggie pizzas, and plain cheese. I had to try both veggie ones, there was a tomato & pesto pizza, and a zucchini and ricotta cheese pizza. Both were good but the tomato & pesto was the best I tried the whole cruise and unfortunately didn't see it again.

Had to get some healthy stuff. The pineapple was still fabulous.

Mom really enjoyed the Greek wraps but since they had onions I didn't care for them. The fries were always delicious.

They have two icecream machines. Both have the same flavors but it was nice to have two stations so people didn't have to line up. they have small cups, so if you're in the mood for a lot of icecream just go and get a soda cup at one of the beverage stations and you don't have to go get seconds.

I kept trying for a picture with no people but the people kept coming and coming!

This lady was just chatting with the CM for ages so I couldn't get a people free picture of Frozone's Treats either. I kept wanting to go check out what they offered, but that was one place you had to pay for. It was things like smoothies and shakes.

After finishing our delicious lunch we headed to the room, stopping for some goodies at the Cove Cafe for mom on the way. The sun was finally starting to peak through the clouds.

Thought this was so cute!

The whole day I had the Wave Phone with me in case Amile called again, and when we walked in the room I noticed the phone was blinking. What! How could this be? I somehow didn't hear the phone ring. It was less than ten minutes since he had called so I quickly called him back and the problem was not really a problem, just a small difference in the annual dues, no big deal. Well, he was starting to get off the phone and I quickly asked him if I could add a second contract for some more points for AKV. I really liked the deal that was happening, for every 100 points you buy you get 20 more for the rest of your contract, and I just love AKV so much I wanted more! No problem of course, he'd type up another contract and have it ready to sign when I went to sign the Aulani paperwork. Whew! Now I could rest easy, I had both :hyper:

I was wondering about Amile. Glad it worked out okay!
I've subscribed to your TR so keep it coming!

woohoo! 2 contracts! SWEET!!! LUCKY!:thumbsup2

Question for you as I have only been on 1 cruise (not Disney) and it was awhile ago. Meals are "free" on the cruise right unless you go to the places like Palo or like the Frozone place in your last post right? I can only remember dinners on our cruise, for some reason I don't remember eating any other time (except the chocolate midnight buffet!) but I am POSITIVE I ate more than just dinner every day haha.:lmao:
