Cruising The Canal May 1, 2015 (Roll Call in Post 1)

I spoke to Alex and he doesn't like any of the port adventures in Cartagena.. So we may do a family thing on the boat and not get off... I will check for more to do but it may be a boat stop

I can't say that I blame him, none of them look particularly exciting to me and I am an adult with a (slight) interest in history. I know my kids would not be interested in them at all though.

I don't know if your son would enjoy this but something we are considering for Cartagena, which I know my DS would absolutely love (although, sadly, he is not coming on the cruise with us) is the Segway tour. Obviously it's not a DCL organised excursion so it would depend how confident you were about taking an excursion on your own. But DH and I have done Segway tours at WDW and other places and loved them so we are seriously considering this one (and it gets great reviews on Tripadvisor).

We are John and Angie. We jumped in and booked last night after looking at this cruise for a while. This will be our 5th Disney cruise but first time on the Wonder. We did a partial transit of the canal in the past but this will be our first complete transit. Cartegena will be a new port for us so we'll have to check out what to see there. Otherwise we love the Disney ships and look forward to spending lots of time on board! Look forward to getting to know everyone. There's a lot of reading to do to get caught up on this board!

Hi Angie(and John), welcome aboard. You will love the cruise, it is our favourite. Cartagena is HOT. I think apart from the Panama Canal itself on the first of our 4 crossings Cartagena is the hottest place I have been. Well I guess I have been hotter, it is the high humidity that makes it very incomfortable. It is a lovely and interesting place but I would suggest a tour rather than making your own way round.

Welcome, it's also my 5th Disney Cruise (with 2 more on RCCL) and DH's 3rd Disney Cruise. We did Panama in 2011 (the Wonders first), and Hawaii in 2012, and I've got a week on Fantasy as well as a short (4 night) on the Wonder.

I have to be honest and say I'm not thrilled with any of the excursions I've seen on the DCL website, for any port. DH and I will have to sit down over Christmas and check them out, we'll both have time then LOL)

Hi, I haven't been here for a long time, as I real live demanded my attention and a general loss of interest in this board, but I wanted to know if the AG FE is still on?
Nielsen4 hasn't posted in a long time as well as many others who wanted to join.
I'd like to use the Christmas holidays for sewing and want to buy fabrics, soon, so if anybody knows anything, please tell me if I should move forward.

Myself, Michael, and a friend, Pat, are confirmed on the cruise. We are at main seating and in SR 5646. Last September went on Disney Magic WB Transatlantic and had a fantastic time. Looking forward to another 2 week cruise. Can't come fast enough!!

I have been out of touch here for some time but sadly, our Fantasy November 1st is over (had a blast) and things are caught up again for the most part and I have started thinking about this trip again. We did come home to snow and got a lot more since so another reason to be dreaming about this and the warm weather.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Fantasy. We enjoyed sailing on her last December. We enjoyed a non-traditional dinner on Thanksgiving that was pretty yummy. I haven't ventured out to do any shopping even though the weather was lovely here on Friday. There is nothing I need that is worth dealing with big crowds! Looking forward to our upcoming cruise on the Royal Princess early next month!
