I ran across this link from another post and has some very good tips/information that may be of some help for you first time cruisers. I wish we had this kind of information on our first cruise, we would have known more of what to expect. :flower:

Thanks TJ that link provided a lot of information. :cool1:

Plus, I just spent 4 1/2 hours in church today with DD and she took it like a champ so now I'm hopeful that 2 hours at dinner will be a peace of cake :goodvibes

Wow I had to scroll all the way to page 3 for this thread. Where's all the Sept. 11th people, my daughter's shy I gotta meet as many friends for her as possible :goodvibes

I know what you mean! According to several sites the boat is filling up (all inside rooms are sold out, and lets face it, a lot of the outside rooms must be sold by this point as well). Apparently all but a few of us are either too shy to say hello, or maybe they just want to surprise us when we all get there. :earboy2:

wow!! i was kinda hoping that we would be the only people on the cruise! darn!!

First Timer:
I know what you mean! my DD will be 3 and she is shy too!! Im hoping to get to know a few people before we sail. that way she has some friends to play with.

The more the merrier. I know I was hoping for a slow and empty cruise also, but can't keep prices like this a secret. It is the best time of the year to cruise for the prices. (We are not talking weather here!!! :teeth: )

I haven't seen anything from Mickey and the gang. Do you suppose the are vacationing elsewhere?

Ok c'mon people we gotta keep this thread alive :cool1:

Anywho my DD is 4, she'll actually be turning 5 while we're on the cruise. :goodvibes

so it looks like it's up to me to keep this thread alive, ok

ahem

*singing*
Thread Alive! Thread Alive! Ah Ah Ah Ah! Thread aliiiiiiiiiiive aliiiiiiiiive aliiiiiiive aliiiiiiive! It's staying aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive! :cool1:

I am here too... Lets keep this cruise date a secret. We definelty want a cruise that is not full, and then we will all get upgraded...
I want the Walt Disney suite.... :teeth:
Hey I can dream can't I?????

FirstTimer - I noticed your dd will be about the same age as my dd. My dd will be 5 in June. This will be her 3rd cruise, 5 yrs old and she is already a veteran cruiser! Would love for her to have a friend to hang out with at the clubs. Maybe we could swap pictures of the girls. PM if you are interested. :hyper2:

Hi,
I just found the neatest idea for anyone cruising with children. Apparently you can have someone that has returned from a Disney Cruise send a postcard to your child "signed" by the character of your choice. This should get the disney magic started before you even leave home. On the search button type in postcards and click on the thread for "pay it forward"
:cool1:

Yeah it really is great, my DD got hers last week :cool1:

Our family is planning our first time trip there. Land and Sea package, sailing the 11th-15th. We too were originally scheduled for the Oct 2nd sail date and moved ours up too. Had heard that "historically" October was hurricane month, so moved into early September. We are a family of 6 and have 2 adjoining Cat 6 cabins. Also staying at AKL and we can't wait. See you all then!!

Hi!! We will be staying at diney' AKL for 3 days and then cruising for four!! I can't wait!! Where are you and your family staying?

We are too!!! Just booked our trip and actually arriving 2 days early, but staying at AKL 3 nights before the cruise. We're a family of 6, myself, DH, DS 15, DS 13, DD 9, and DD 6. We are actually celebrating DD (6) birthday early, her actual bday is in Oct., she'll be 7, but booked trip early because she had to have surgery and wanted to give her something to look forward to. Since you are staying there as well, do you happen to know about how transportation works from AKL to the ship??
Dee

We're in a Cat 6, as well. Where are you located? We will be in 6536.

tjhutch and firsttimer, my daughter is 5, she is very timid and shy hoping that she will make some friends so she will not be so lonely. This is our first cruise, I am hoping that she will not be afraid of the boat and the characters. I am hoping for her to meet a few friends to make the trip happy!!
