cruising on super bowl sunday

OOPS- I didnt realize until I just saw a commerical that I booked our 4 day cruise leaving on super bowl sunday Im not sure how dh is going to react to this one. I guess the ESPN bar will be doing something - so that should make him feel somewhat better. anyone else on this cruise?

Relax. We cruised during the NFL playoffs. Since our DS works for the Panthers, we had more than the average interest in seeing the game.

When you sail, they will have converted the ESPN Zone to the teen center, and the piano bar will be this fantastic new space called Diversions. This is where they host sporting events.

They make a big deal out of the games. They have a "tailgate" in the corner with snacks like wings, sandwiches, etc. There are TV screen all around so everyone has a great view.

Since Diversions is 18 or older after 9:00, they also show the game in the Promenade Lounge.

Sports nuts won't miss the "big game" just because they're cruizin.

If the "big" Super Bowl Party is only at Diversions, I'll be disappointed because isn't that where smoking is allowed all day? Even if it's just at night, that gets unbearable for those of us with clean lungs.

thanks for the info. it starts around 6pm right? so we can leave him there and come back and pick him up for dinner

Question is--is he going to want to leave the game for dinner?

As I mentioned, they also have the game on in the Promenade Lounge so you don't have to worry about smoke.

On New Years day they had TV's all over the place to watch the games, and you could watch them on your cabin TV.
As I posted elsewhere, we were on vacation, so we avoided the games and enjoyed the cruise!!
