Cruising on Points Question

Hi all.

DH and I are cruising on the 9/7 Magic -- our fifth Disney cruise. We currently have a room with a Navigator's Verandah booked on points.

My question is: Once we get to the port, can we pay the cash difference to upgrade to a higher category? We have some "found" money that's waiting to be spent, but we're short on points (I've got to have enough to book the Member Cruise!)

Has anyone ever tried to upgrade with cash? Also, has anyone traveling on points ever received a complimentary upgrade?

Hi Amy! I just had to respond to your post because I'm a big Vol fan too. Go Big Orange! I live just south of Knoxville. In response to your question, I have heard of people paying cash being able to upgrade once they get to the port but I wouldn't count on it since most cruises are booked to capacity. I haven't heard of anyone paying on points getting a complimentary upgrade. You may be able to get better advice on the Cruise Board since there are more cruisers there.

It's good to hear from a fellow Vols fan -- can you believe it's less than two weeks til "football time in Tennessee?"

We actually scheduled our cruise around the UT football schedule. We'll only miss the MTSU game -- which hopefully won't be too exciting anyway. We are making the trip to Adelphia for the first game.

I think we talked once before the old AOL DVC board. I was Ohhbother then, but I remember you and Darla and a few others!
