Cruising during an El Niño winter?

Anyone have any idea if the El Niño will have a big effect on cruise conditions? I am a little worried of the ship being extra rocky due to choppier seas. We have gone on cruises and WDW during February twice and had perfect weather. I am a little worried this February will be different.

El Nino will mostly effect west coast cruises (few and far between). I don't think there will be much issue on the east coast.

Generally speaking El Niño brings:

• cooler and wetter weather to the southern United States
• warmer weather to western Canada and southern Alaska
• drier weather to the Pacific Northwest
• cooler weather to northern Canada
• wetter weather to southern California

The Atlantic hurricane season is usually diminished during El Nino, while the tornado season is more active.

The gulf and Florida should get more rain this winter. I think it would be more apt to affect cruises out of Galveston.

It seemed like quite a few cruises in Feb of this year couldn't dock at Castaway Cay. So despite El Niño, that's always a possibility.

It' been pouring here in the Southwest. Rain in October? Weird for us...honestly rain in general is weird for us. This is usually when we get the dry Santa Ana winds, and brush fires. I have a feeling this is going to be an interesting winter. My Galveston Bahamian cruise may be more like an Alaskan cruise LOL.
