thinking about the future and that we might do a disney cruise. can anyone tell me the following

1. can or do you book via member services

2. my son is disabled (can't move because of a broken neck) so we hire a hoist, shower chair etc . are you able to take such things on the cruise

3. what is the disabled / handicapped ships like for access , roll-in shower etc.

its our 25th wedding anniversary in 2008 so was thinking ahead

To use points you have to book through MS. Not sure about the accesability questions though. Maybe you should call DCL directly before booking through MS to discuss it with someone who can give you accurate info. Also check the disAbilities board on the Dis or even the cruise board.

we almost got a ha room a couple of cruises ago, but the room was under repair, but i did go in the bathroom and the entire bath was tile and made to roll straight into the shower, like a long shower stall, with a sink at one end and shower at the other. i can't remeber if there was a seat in the shower area. the room was laid out differently than other verandah rooms, it was more square than rectangled and verandah was on the aft of the ship.

my in-laws got an inside ha room and it was very large compared to the others, i think that there would be no problem moving around in either one of these. i don't know how you get the gear transported, i'm sure that ms will get you connected with the right people at dcl to make the arrangements.
