Cruises longer than 7 nights

We were on the Fantasy 9-day that just got cancelled 🙁. It sounds like you do not get FCC on your deposit - only if you have already paid in full.

Sad isn't it? We were on the same cruise and same situation.
Don't forget to ask for your 10% discount on your next booking. They did offer that.

I'm guessing you meant that Canada won't let cruises operate out of Vancouver for 2021 not this year. Although if vaccinations can saturate the population of Canada far enough they could consider re-opening maybe possibly late 2021.
As of now, only 8% of the population of BC will be vaccinated by the end of March. We are being told that by September anyone who wants it in BC should be vaccinated by then. Our premier here in BC does not want international travel to resume until everyone who wants a vaccine has been able to get it. Now, the border and ports are under federal jurisdiction so our BC premier can't block that, but he can certainly make his feelings known to our prime minister and he has, many times. It's the feeling here in Canada that the land border between our two countries won't reopen until summer at the earliest. Time will tell, but honestly, the current ban on cruise ships ends Feb 28th so we should know by then if Alaska is really going to happen or not.

Question on the PIF portion of the 125% credit. My understanding is you will only receive your deposit back if not PIF, so will I still get the 125% credit if I go PIF today, even though it is not required for a few more months?

We are booked for a 11 night Greece cruise in July and have come to terms it is most likely not going to happen. Is there any fine print to the 125% future credit? Want to be sure I will be eligible and it is reasonably time constrained before paying off our remaining balance.

Yes, as long as you are PIF prior to DCL canceling cruise you will get the 125% if offered. We had decided to pay early for our now canceled transatlantic to get the FCC.

Yup. This. Horgan is NOT in favor of travel. My guess was at least April before borders open... but I wont be surprised if its much later. The question is, if Alaskan cruises are cancelled for the first half of the seasons, will they move the ships elsewhere? Or hold out hope for a delayed season?

Dr Bonnie seems very confident we will have a 'more social summer in 2021 and almost back to normal'. So wonder if they will extend the ban til May 31 2021 and then let it expire? It's all just a guessing game right now, of course, and like I've stated before it's Transport Canada who puts these things in place so ....I cannot imagine the headache for all these cruise lines trying to navigate this all.

Any one know when we can book on those new cruises?

Update - I just saw that they open December 21.

The 9 night Fantasy 22 July cruise was cancelled yesterday. Disney is replacing it with a 3 night Bahamas and a 6 night Western. Can't book the replacement cruises yet but they are offering people on the 9 night a 10% discount on either cruise. Usual 125% deal, although we used a 125% FCC to book the 9 night. No idea how much more the two cruises will be than the one they replace since bookings are not open yet.

Just to say CDC rules do not apply in Europe hence why they have not cancelled these cruises. There is actually a good chance they will happen if the Magic stays in Europe and things continue the way they are over here. There is no guarantee that the 125% credit will be offered on future cancellations. Some cruise lines have started reducing FCC so you can not guarantee this will be the case. If however you PIF today and then the cruise gets cancelled tomorrow the likelihood is that you would be offered 125% and would definitely be eligible. As said though the CDC rules do not apply to any of the Med cruises and this is why they are still for sale and haven't been cancelled with this batch of cancellations.

We were booked on the transatlantic - sad to see it get cancelled! Does anyone know what the deal is with the hawaii cruises?

Yes, I'll be really happy if we can have a more normal Summer! Something to look forward to.

The Maritimes also has many cruise ships. PEI has one of the strictest 14 day quarantine rules. No Disney ship scheduled this coming year but honestly can't see any cruise ships coming into the port in 2021.

Customer service told me that you can book back to back for the 6 day and 3 day Fantasy replacement for the 9 day cruise. I also asked if for those of us who were cancelled and were offered the 10% off can use it on both. The CSR asked a manager and they told me that they didn't have that information yet.

Are a lot of people in the other social media group planning to book the B2B?

They did a poll and there were about a quarter of the respondents that said that they would book a back to back. A big difference for many is that they chose the cruise for the ports. I also did at the time but now I just want to get back on a ship!

I just rebooked the B2B cruise this morning. I received the 10% off on both cruises and was also able to use a placeholder on the 6 night cruise as well.

Lucky.
Been on the phone with DCL holding for almost 2 hours.
What a sh**show. - Still, I dont think cruises will sail out of US ports in 2021.

Only took four hours but finally booked the b2b 3+6 nights instead of the 9-night that got canceled.. deck 5 verandah... it'll be cancelled too anyway, but whatever...booked just to not disappoint DD

Just got ours rebooked (TA did all the work, including moving insurance). Three cabins, seven people. We fully expect the cruises to go, but what we don't know is where (Mexico is allowing travel but what rules for ships will be in June is unknown). Way too early to tell. The new cruises were actually cheaper than the original 2020, rebooked to 2021 and now rebooked again. So should have close to 30% of original cruise cost back as OBC. Only one issue with that - could only be applied to the shorter first cruise. Son wants to do Atlantis dolphins, so shouldn't have a problem spending it. Disney folks actually suggested a way to spend a bit of the OBC on the second cruise - they just did prepaid gratuities for that cruise only as part of the booking. Could have also done transfers, but we already had that arranged through goport.
