Cruise's (Chris) Accountability/Sap Journal :) (comments welcome)

Chris:

I'm so sorry this bug is hanging around you and your family. I good does of Florida sunshine should help some if you can survive the flight.

You sound like you have a great plan for keeping the food under control on your trip. The last time we went, we really focused on just eating good things and there are so many good options everywhere. And all that walking! With the cooler weather you should be able to get in lots of exercise.

I'm so jealous...maybe a trip next year. Have a wonderful holiday!

Well I'm not hopeful for a nice scale reading tomorrow. Maybe things will surprise me. I ate well today, didn't overdo it and tonight the reading was not good (I know, don't go by the nighttime reading but I'm a bit obsessed right at this moment). I also didn't get to workout because we were long at the doc office (he was running about 35 minutes late). DH and I are cleared to go - we are both on another round of antibiotics. He said my ear looks awesome but we can't figure out why my throat is feeling so swollen because he can't see anything that would be causing it. So I'm thinking that maybe it's drainage. Who knows.

I am going to try very hard to get to workout at 4:45 tomorrow night and Thursday night but don't think I'll make it Thursday night. I may try to get on the treadmill before we head out on Thursday night but, again, not hopeful.

I'm really going to have to watch myself carefully while at WDW. I'm not as far down as I had hoped for and I'm really worried about disappointing myself. I'm a bit down right now but I know once I get on the ground at WDW that will change. I've been there 45+ pounds heavier, I should be happy that I'll be fitting more comfortably on the rides and will be able to get out of the teapots easier this year!!!!

Right now Thursday morning looks to be a non-productive day at work - I've gotten a lot done the last two days so I'm hoping to catch up on journals tomorrow morning, some, and Thursday morning!!!!

Hope everyone had a good day.

Well my not working out has taken it's toll on me and it's my own fault. I am up a pound and at 46.5 pounds off again. I leave tomorrow night for my trip so there is a small amount of hope that I will be able to get something down by tomorrow but it will in now way be the 3.5 pounds that I need. Oh well. I'll check in again tomorrow morning.

Hope everyone has a great day!
Happy Holidays

DON'T WORRY ABOUT YOUR WEIGHT! This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip to enjoy with your family. You can worry about the weight when you get back. I know it is a hard thing to do. I am obsessed with the number on the scale as well. 46.5lbs is an amazing accomplishment. You have a great plan in place for eating and I think you will be amazed at your weight gain (if any) during your vacation. Mentally preparing yourself for 10lbs is OK as long as you don't beat yourself up if you actually do gain that much (which I doubt you will! :teeth: ).

I hope everyone feels better before you leave! Hang in there and have a fabulous time!

Well dd is currently cleared to go. The doc irrigated her ears - they were so plugged with wax that it was probably attributing to her sore throat because she said her throat didn't look that bad. But just to be safe they did a strep test because it's been going around.

DD got on the scale and with the same scale she was on in July it showed she has lost 30 pounds. AND THE DOCTOR SAID NOTHING!!!!!! I don't really think she knew. They have a new charting system and everything is on the computer so they don't see the weight as clearly as they did in July - before she went to this system. It's okay, she was so pleased with what it said herself that that counted for everything.

I'll check in tomorrow and take care of some journals. I got a workout in tonight and I worked really hard and it felt good.

I won't try to obsess too much Amy but it's hard. And I can't believe I'm obsessing this much about it - pretty sad, I know :)

Well the scale held steady this morning - no change. I'm bummed about because I was really good yesterday, worked out hard, haven't really eaten any junk in the last couple of days and not sure why there is no loss. My jeans are fitting better so I believe there is some shrinkage in the body which is good. I'm almost wondering if this antibiotic that I'm on isn't causing me to have some water gain because I have been waking up with an unbelievable amount of swelling in my hands and knees but I'm drinking at least 84 ounces of water a day if not more some of the last couple of days because I've been so thirsty. Who knows. I have 3 more days of this medicine so maybe I'll see some magical leave of water down at WDW!!!! :confused3 :confused3 :teeth: :teeth:

I want to wish you all a wonderful, safe, and blessed holiday and a safe New Year! Thank you for being here and helping me through this journey I've been going through this past 5 1/2 months. You guys have kept me going and I appreciate that more than you all will ever know.

Best wishes and Happy Holidays!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited to be home and to be starting this year off great! WDW was awesome - spent last night at MK and IT WAS A ZOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the fireworks were just undescribably awesome. We sat down at a bench between the castle and Crystal Palace at 2:45 for a break and to decide what we were doing for the rest of the day (we got there at 7:30 and had done 8 rides/attractions by 9:30). Needless to say - we never left that bench until after 12:10AM!!!!!! Except for splitting up potty breaks and drink runs. And we weren't the only ones that did that. My dad wanted to head back to the resort around 8pm and so my dh and he headed toward Main Street and it took them 20 minutes to get from where we were to the beginning of Main Street. So needless to say he came back and stayed. More on this later.

I have been DYING to get on the scale. I'll do a bit better report of what I ate tomorrow or Tuesday. But it appears I may have lost 4 pounds while we have been gone. I'll do an official tomorrow morning because that was with my clothes on and having eaten today. I was really watching what I ate but didn't bum myself out by not getting what I wanted - I made one stop at the Boardwalk Confectionary once, we ate at Beaches and Cream once (I got onion rings to share with my dad and dh and split a shake with dd while having a ceasar salad without chicken), had two awesome pieces of dessert at Kennedy Space Center (we did lunch with an astronaut), and ate various candy and pretzels throughout the last week. But we walked a TON! One night after taking the day easy dh and I went over to Fort Wilderness to check out the campers and the decorations (they were awesome for the ones that deco'ed their campers) and we walked through the campground at a very fast pace to get some good heart rate exercise and that felt so good. Tomorrow dh is going to add up approximately how many miles we walked total as he wore his pedometer the whole time. One day he registered that we walked 15 miles (that was the Epcot day I believe).

Weather was awesome, spitted rain one day, was a bit chilly for a couple of days but it killed me to put pants on today to come home to the 40's.

Hope everyone had a great Holiday and had a safe and nice New Years Eve. This WILL be my year!!!!!!!! I missed you guys very much.

Chris

Welcome back! Sounds like you had a fantastic time! Wow, I can't wait to see what your weigh-in says. That is amazing that you actually LOST weight while on vacation! You're my hero! :worship: :worship:

1/2/06

Well the final loss when I got on the scale this morning was 1.5 pounds while at WDW and 3 for the month of December!!!! I did not have any water yesterday and I know that did not help me at all yesterday. I did try to drink as much water as I could. One day I drank one water bottle (about 14 ounces) and I felt it the next day - I was deeply dehydrated and I know I was because I know how I get when I dehydrate - dizzy, very tired, and my bathroom duties diminish greatly. It was NOT a good thing and I was grumpy and yelled at my husband because of it - the rest of the trip was better. He does not like to stop unless it's for himself and thus we didn't stop much during the day to drink. On NYE I made sure at everytime that we stopped I drank and made sure dd did as well. Today I'm starting my increase back up with my water and can you say GLUG GLUG :sunny:

Some observations about this trip being 46 pounds lighter - my stamina was amazing!!!!! I did not get tired during the day like I use to (the first two days I was exhausted by 1pm but that was because I hadn't slept and was very stressed before we left). I was the one moving fast and people had to keep up with me. The seat on the airplane actually fit!!!!!! AND I was able to lower the tray table and not have it rest on my belly!!!!!!!! You should have seen how excited I was. When sitting in the shows I didn't bump anyone and there was actually room in the seat I was sitting in, extra room. It still was a very tight fit getting on the teacups (through that door) and Pirates (through the turnstiles) but I didn't have problems when I turned sideways like I did before. I actually like the pictures I was in this time and asked dd to make sure and get me in some pictures. I had a very hard time at the buffets - I felt very guilty being full after the first trip. So I made small trips after we had done the first buffet. I put small amounts on my plate - like two bite sized helpings and then I didn't feel bad going back and doing the same with things I liked. I did not make myself feel guilty if I got dessert. I just made sure to not eat it all if I didn't want it all. The one place I did overdo the desserts was at the buffet at the Lunch with an Astronaut at Kennedy Space Center - I got two half slices of cake but I took a whole hour to eat them. And then we walked a lot afterward.

Here's where we ate that I can remember right now - Part 1:
Arrival day - got a nice big chicken salad at Beach Club for lunch; Cape May Cafe for dinner - ate a big salad, chicken, small amount of potatoes, small roll, 1 french frie from dd's plate, small piece of some chocolate oreo dessert mousse thing

Christmas Eve - American Inn (World Showcase) for lunch - Turkey on Whole Wheat Bagel sandwich with side salad; Dinner after Candlelight Processional - Biergarten - ate lots of bratwurst (like a total of 2 whole sausages), 1 small spoonful of roasted potatoes, 1 pretzel roll, 2 bites of some beef roast thing, 3 slices of pork roast, 1 small piece of Black Forest Cake

12/25 - lunch at Coronodo Springs food court - Tuna salad on bagel, couple bites of dd's calzone; dinner at Boma - 4 slices of prime rib, 1 bite of sweet rice, 1 bite of some pasta salad, 1 roasted potato slice, 2 small zebra domes (they made these mini-size), 1 bite sized brownie (I do not like eating at Boma and only went so my dad could eat there and because dh likes it)

12/26 - lunch at TuskerHouse - rotisserie chicken (1/2 chicken) without skin and 2 bites of mashed potatoes; dinner at O'Hana - I went nuts here a bit - ate a lot of the wontons (with no sauce), had good sized helping of salad, had 1 chicken wing, had 2 things of steak, had 2 things of pork, 1 bite of turkey thing, had 1 pork sausage thing (this was actually very good), had 1/2 of a scoop of the ice cream and none of the rest of the dessert (didn't like it after having a very small bite)

12/27 - breakfast - had a cheese danish from MGM bakery; lunch at Backlot Express - cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, mayo, fries with a little bit of cheese sauce; dinner at 50's - meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes (at everything), 1/4 of the helping of the smores dessert

12/28 - breakfast - 3 cheese omelet with ham, cheddar cheese, and mushrooms (ate half), breakfast potatoes, english muffin from Olivia's at OKW; lunch - chopped salad with fat free ranch from Good's To Go at OKW; dinner - can't remember - I'll have to come back to this one

12/29 - lunch - lunch with an astronaut at Kennedy Space Center - 1 chicken breast with marsala sauce, about 1/4 cup of rice pilaf, about 1/2 cup of salad, 2 mini corn dogs, 1 roll with butter, 2 pieces of cake - 1/2 of a slice each; dinner - chicken caesar salad at Olivia's; tried to eat a Mickey Bar but got 3 bites and it landed on the ground - guess that was a sign!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

12/30 - breakfast at Kona Cafe - half of a fruit cup (split with dh), half of a Big Kahuna breakfast (split with dh) - had about 1/3 cup of scrambled eggs, 1 piece of bacon, order of roasted potatoes, 1 pancake, 1 1/2 piece of french toast; lunch at Beaches and Cream - caesar salad with minimal dressing, 5 onion rings, 1/2 chocolate shake (split with dd); dinner - buffet at Gullivers Grill in Swan (this was not very good - we were very disappointed) - 1/8th piece of chicken, 1 slice of beef (very tough), 2 bites of corn dog, 1 cup of rice (with minimal melted butter), 1/2 cup of chocolate mousse dessert

12/31 - lunch at Crystal Palace - 4 slices of prime rib, 1 slice of pork roast, 1 chicken finger, 1/2 plate of salad, 1/4 cup mashed potatoes, 1 half of a brownie, 1/2 cup of apple crisp (this was sooooooo yummy); dinner - Cosmic Ray's - cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, mayo, ketchup, fries with cheese sauce

1/1 - breakfast at Olivia's (same as the other day except wheat toast) and ate all of omelet; tried the Mickey Bar again before we left for the airport and I was successful at being able to eat it without losing ANY of it!!!! (trust me, this was a big accomplishment - when we were there a year ago September and I got one at MK I asked for a bib with it and sure enough, after the guy laughed at me, I lost it all down the front of my shirt)

When we didn't go anywhere for breakfast I would eat a small yogurt and granola bar at the room or eat the granola bar later in the day. I snacked on 100 cal snacks and small bags of pretzels. We also had gotten some dry roasted peanuts that we snacked on while waiting in lines if needed. I did have an orange yesterday morning in the room but it was not very good so only ate half of it. I did have a wine cooler on the 30th in the room.

So I did pretty well considering what I would have normally eaten while there. Snacks were minimal and I tried to really watch what I was putting in my mouth. I did get a caramel chocolate covered pretzel from the confectionary at the Boardwalk but didn't eat that until bedtime a few nights later when I was very stressed. I also did get a white chocolate covered Mickey head pretzel at the confectionary on Main Street on the 31st.

I drank a lot of diet coke and had diet pepsi withdrawals about the 4th day and couldn't find one diet pepsi anywhere (forgot to get some when we did our grocery stop on the way in) as it's not allowed anywhere on Disney property.

Keep on
