Hi,

Just wondering if any past or present Cruiseline brides sent out guests newsletters before the trip and had oot bags for the ship?

I have seen a few awesome threads of oot bags/boxes & newsletters from WDW brides but just wondered if any of the cruiseline girls had done or were planning this?

I'm actually updating a website (for free!) from MyWedding.com rather than doing newsletters. I like the site a lot, and it even includes an RSVP function.

I haven't decided yet if I'm doing bags. I have been looking into DCL gifts. I'm particularly interested in the holiday decorations. I think it would be great if our guests opened up their cabins, and a small Christmas tree with a note from us was inside! It might be more expensive than bags, but at least we'd be saving in delivery fees.

HTH :goodvibes

Ok, I clearly need to be drinking more coffee :surfweb: because you already have a wedding website!! So please ignore, and I'll be off to bed! :lmao:

My daughter is getting married onboard November 8th sailing. She is planning on doing BOTH of these. I know the bags will include, sunscreen, small bottles of Rum, chapstick, Door Hangers, ummm I forget what else. They are planning on placing a bottle of champaigne in everyones stateroom.

The newsletter I can't remember when she said she will be sending it out but another DISer was kind enough to get her copies of the Castaway map you receive in your stateroom and that will be included as part of the newsletter along with a personal letter from DD and her Fiancee.

I have also made name magnets for everyone attending the wedding to decorate all of our stateroom doors. WE are really looking forward to the Wedding......It will be wonderful.

ETA if anyone has any photo's I would love to see them

Hi!

We are getting married in August on Castaway Cay and did 3 newsletters. We did an initial one (approx 1 year out) to announce our wedding plans to all our family and some friends. We included general information on DCL, information on how to book a cruise, what category to choose, pros and cons of the dinner seatings, ports the cruise will visit, info on passport rules and trip insurance.

Our second newsletter (sent at 5 months out) went only to those that had booked and had information specific to those arriving a day early, transportation to/from the cruise line terminal, what to wear for the ceremony and information on Nassau.

Our third newsletter was at the 2 month mark and had information on cruise documents, airport departure info, what to pack for dinner, and excursion info for Nassau.

I am in the process of finalizing our last newsletter (Welcome Aboard!) which has day by day info such as a description of each evening show, which excursions we are doing, other items to highlight (pirate night) and ceremony details. None of our guests have ever cruised on Disney before so ours are intended for first timers:)

We are also doing welcome bags. We have water bottles, sunscreen, band-aids, pens, highlighters, chips, gum, kleenex, fruit snacks, etc. We are also including our welcome aboard newsletters and personalized thank you cards for everyone.

Hope this is helpful...any other questions please ask!
Suzanne

Wow Suzanne that's perfect, exactly what I was trying to figure out

Can I be super cheeky :ssst: and see your first newsletter? If not that's cool I just though I would ask, having some massive writers block this weekend :lmao:

I don't mind at all!! I am happy to help out! I did them in Microsoft Publisher, do you have that application? Would you like me to email you the file?

Thank you sooo much you are the best

I didn't do bags..but I did order magnets for all our guests..they could stick them on the door ...Door magnets are one of the coolest things!
It is the little blue one..I got them at theknot.com shop..I have a close up picture at work..but you can see our door here..we did fish extenders with all the guests, so we got lots of magnets and gifts each night

Off topic..but just an FYI..don't order the "bride" shirt from theknot...totally sucks and it was so small..I ordered and XXL and it was the size of a medium...
Victoria Secrets has a new line of Bridal wear.."bride", "bride to Be" "soon to be mrs" and Hitched" shirts and panties..I think they are so cute and wish they had them last year...and they run very true to size!!

I am doing newsletters and welcome bags! We did our 1st newsletter at 18 months when we told everyone, then i did another one about 9 months out.....i'm trying to decide if i want to do 1 or 2 more.

I sent out an information packet, then regular invites. I also sent out the DVD from the disney web site and passporter books for all who booked.

We did a beach towel favor and since we were a group booking there were gifts we picked in each room. We also did a rehersal dinner at WDW the night before we left. Ohana! That was about $800, but we really wanted to thank all of our guests for coming!
