Any suggestions? I know I'm not taking "A Night to Remember: The Minute-by-Minute Story of the Sinking of the Titanic", or "Jaws"....

I was thinking about "The Old Man and the Sea".

I know everyone has different tastes, but just curious: What are you taking?

I'll be taking John Mcenroe's book "You Can't Be Serious".

We've been having this same conversation and it will probably be a few current issues of magazines. I can't see myself with time enough to do any heavy reading.

I just read "A Girl Named Zippy" and it was quick to read, but thought=provoking. You could pick it up and put it down, and I frequently found myself laughing out loud or reading bits to my husband (not that he appreciated anything out of context).

Might I suggest any of Carl Hiaasen’s mystery works—all set in Florida and everyone a masterpiece. You’ll love every minute! For first timers, I recommend Tourist Season. Granted, you may not want to get off the boat at the end, but it will leave you hungry for more!

I can recommend two books....

In For A Penny and
Not A Penny More

by Kathryn Wall

Part of Not A Penny More takes place on a cruise ship.

These are mysteries that are written by a local (Hilton Head Island)author and are excellent books.

I'm not a big mystery reader..but these are good.

Yep, I will take a romance novel of some sort - easy to read, nothing heavy. I do enough of that all year long. Vacation is for escape - even in my books. Maybe a Nora Roberts or LaVyrle Spencer.

I read a book that was a very quick read... you may or may not want to take it on the cruise... I laughed out loud and cried as well... but it was a fabulous book!!! Everyone that I have loaned it to absolutely loved it... even the ones who rarely ever read...

Letters for Emily... by: Camron Wright

This is is first and only book... but in my opinion it is GREAT!

I will be taking "The Witching Hour" by Anne Rice.
I haven't read any of her stuff before, but it looked good. It is nice and fat, with small print. Perfect for 2 weeks on a cruise ship!
I will start reading it once we are on the ship.
