Does anyone know if travel agents have to pass on your deposit money to disney right away, or do they hold it?

A good agency process the payment through DCL right away (Charges show up as DCL and not the agency)

Many agencies, including Dreams Unlimited never take money from you. You just authorize them to pay DCL with your credit card (or other form of payment). They make the payment as soon as they can, but never "hold" your money. As soon as you are charged, DCL has your money applied to the reservation.
