I know it's not a popular or recommended way to use points, but just curious about cruise options. Can you use points on any cruise sailing date? Or only the dates listed on the points chart?? I suspect only the ones listed?
The cruises listed on the various point charts should be all of those bookable to the general public. If a cruise date is not listed, it's either 100% chartered or not yet announced.

Don't forget that DVC can and does limit the # of cabins and may not offer a cabin even if it's listed on the points chart. They have done this previously.
You can always ask about cruises that are not on the point charts. There are occasions where the point charts are not in sync with DCL, especially with changes and newly announced cruises.
You have to call member services anyway to book cruises and they will be able to tell you if the cruise is available for point exchanges and what the point cost for a cabin on that cruise.
Just because there are cabins available on the DCL web site does not mean there are DVC availability.

I just booked my first cruise on points. Though I have crusied plenty without them. Call MS they can walk you through the process and what happens if you cancel etc. it does cost $95.
Also remember, it is another $95 dollars every time you have to make a change to the reservation. Also DVC is functioning as your Travel Agent, so although you can login to, and see your reservation details on the DCL site, you cannot do things like, adding transfers, or modifying cabin selection or date. You have to go through Member Services for those.
