:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Hi,
I just came back from our cruise and I have some advice!

I was on the 4 day cruise 2 years ago and enjoyed the Oceaneer's Lab (8-9 years) alot. I think that 10-12's club is okay but not the best. We hung out at Common Grounds before it was offically open for 13-17's. We didn't do alot of cool stuff but there was some highlights. The Learn-to-draw Mickey, Goofy and Donald was cool. The best was the animation cell. It makes you feel like an animator and get to know their secrets. When my parents went out to Palo I vetoed on it because there wasn't alot of interesting stuff happening. So, I ordered in room service, watched a movie and went to QuarterMasters. The room service was much faster than they quoted.

St. Maarten - if you go on the French Riviera Beach Rendezvous don't get your hair braided there because they didn't do a great job (although they were very nice). It started to come undone shortly afterward and I ended up taking it all out 48 hours after it was done.

I also enjoyed the snorkling in St. John! It was a blast! I saw a huge angel fish 10 ft. away!

Go to bingo with your parents and share a bingo card with them. I was very lucky and won $106 which I split my DM. Children can't purchase bingo cards but can play - but your parents will have to collect the money.

Thanks for all help!

Hi 4megs DD. Thanks for a 10yr olds perspective. My DD(9) was on the 3 day when she was 7 and loved the clubs. She will be in the 10-12 group when we cruise in Sept. sorry to hear that the club is not as thrilling for this age group. She was planning to spend time there.

Were you able to sign in/out yourself? Was there an option for your parents to say "no" and get a beeper? Did most of your age group sign in/out yourselves?

Did you meet lots of kids your age in the lab and then hang out with them out of the lab?

Were there good games in the arcade?

thanks for your perspective!

Megs-
Thank you so much for posting. As the mother of 4 with a cruise planned in Oct.(first time for the kids!)I have started wondering lately if the kids would like the clubs. I think my 8-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son will be fine in the clubs( his older sister at 10 would have probably been bored, but boys do "mature" at a slower pace). I am not sure how much time my 14-year-old will spend in common grounds, but I am not concerned that she will be bored...she will be perfectly happy alone with a book(rare, I know, especially for a cheerleader). My greatest concern is my soon-to-be-12-year-old(4/15). At the time we sail, she will be exactly 12.5, and she is not the book-worm type. I know she is going to want to be with her 14-year-old sister, and quite honestly, she would fit in better there than her older sister would(she is not shy). Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should (or could) do?

I was able to sign in/out myself and if you want to be on the safe side so you know where your kids are and where to meet you can also get a beeper. Most of the other kids could sign in/out themselves but it is nice to have the beeper!

It depends if she likes to hang out alot in one spot. One of the only things thrilling were: 1. the computers (everyone wants them), 2. The lab arcade games (they are hardly ever on :( !), and 3. the common grounds (only three computers, one playstation with about 15 games for two people, boys will hog automatically so come early, a bar for chatting, a movie, janga, two checker games and 1 chess, cool furniture).

I think that the lab needs to be more active! We went to Animator's Palate for Lunch and Topsider's or Beach Blanket Buffet depending what cruise you are on:)!

If you are going on the 7-day cruise QuarterMasters has the coolest games! They have skiing, crazy taxi, car racing, egg arcade (), underwater adventure and much more! I would suggest for her to go there!

Well that is everything I can help you with!

your daughter and son would love the clubs, there are alot of things they can get out of the club. The 14, 12.5, and 10 year-old-daughters can do whatever they want.

There are parties almost every night, and cool things to do after the shows ( you must see all the shows!). Mickey Mania is a must and it is on the first night @ 9:45 in Studio Sea Midship deck 5!

If you get seats at the front and come early you'll definetly get picked! If you want to bring only one kid, you should or just let the rest watch! The key is to get into parent-child partner and scream really loud and go crazy! we were winners on 2 cruises!

Maybe your 12.5 year old would like to go to the Arcade room! If she loves action and cool stuff she'll love it! Maybe your 14-year old DD would like it too!

That's all I can help with!
