Hi there. My wife and I are considering the 3-day in September. We have boy-girl twins who will be about 3.5 years old at that time. Some questions:

1) Is September a good time to go? Will the crowds be down a little?
2) Will the kids be old enough to get a lot out of the experience? I know the Oceaneer's Club is tailor-made for them, but we don't want to just drop them off there all day. We want to spend a lot of time with them as well. Is there a lot to do for families?
3) Are there certain cabin types that do not sleep 4? In the ones that do sleep 4, is one of them always a fold-out high off the floor? I'm concerned about one of the kids rolling out.
4) Any specific recommendations for cabin type and/or deck level?

I'll hang up and listen to your answers. Thanks so much! :smickey:

I think Sept would be a good time to go because of crowds, especially the week end after Labor Day. By then most families with kids have them back in school. It is hurricane season, but the cruise lines are prepared for that and will just change the ports they go to. I would buy trip insurance and not hesitate to go at this time of year. (And I live in Fl and lots of experience with hurricanes)

A room with sleeping for 4 will include a pull down bed to create a bunk bed. They will have a rail they can put up but if your child moves all over the bed while they sleep this will not work. DSIL slept on the top bunk, which wasn't romantic but functional! You and your spouse could sleep in those beds and put children in the queen bed, which may work out better since the TV is in the part of the room where the bunks are. There is a curtain you can close as a divider since you will probably be up later than the kids.

I believe you can stay with the kids in the club. They can go most anywhere you go. We went with DGD the first time when she was 2 and to young to be anywhere but with us and she was happy to just be with all her family all the time. Time will go extremely fast on a 3 day cruse, I think it is a great starting place for you.

I think the type of room mostly would depend on your budget. I will tell you that an inside room will be very dark. DH and I had one once and loved it because we could sleep so well in the pitch dark. But during the day it would be very dark, but we wern;t in the room much. If you have a balcony it would be a place for you to hang out if the kids take a nap or go to bed early.

Have fun!

There are the broadway style shows that the kids and you will enjoy. There is also Mickey's pool that they may enjoy if they like to swim. There always seem to be character meets going on either with characters or princesses. This IS Disney, so there is always something for the kids to do We just stayed in a category 11 inside standard stateroom on deck 6 with my 7 year old and 3 1/2 year old and they both slept comfortably on the pull out couch that is very low to the floor, so if they did roll out, they'd be fine. As for suggestions on stateroom type or deck, that's just entirely up to your budget. The only thing with an inside stateroom is that you can't tell if it's noon or midnight because there is absolutely no outside light. Some people like that, but it's kind of weird not having any sunlight in your room whatsoever. You DO sleep much better, but you also risk sleeping too late and missing activities (or breakfast) if you don't get a wake up call. Oh, yeah, the wake up call...that would be Mickey Mouse calling you, so I highly suggest getting a wake up call to ad to the magic of your Disney Cruise vacation!!

Good luck...I hope we all give you usefull info to make your Cruise a wonderful experience!
