Cruise Meet -April 21, 2012 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean

Cruise paid in full as of 10 minutes ago!!!!:banana::banana:

OMG! I am so excited!!!!!

I purchased the birthday package for DS since his birthday is April 25. Has anyone purchased this? Is it worth it?

10 days until I can book excursions and Palo/Remy.

:thumbsup2 I stand corrected! I'm gold too but usually try to pay it off before the on-line check-in time because otherwise I get all wiggy about it (personal issue :rotfl:). So in my mind, I must have them connected. ;)

It only seems connected for first time cruisers because the online check in date and the full payment date are the same for them.

I'm silver, but I'm with Eeyore, I'm paid off already, even though I could check in at 90 days. I wanted to book my Palo and excursions at that time.

Has anyone booked private excursions? Looking at parasailing in St. Thomas & snorkeling in St. Maaten. If anyone has done this before, can you make any recommendations?

TIA

We did this for my son on a cruise back in 2003 His birthday is actually on Christmas so we were celebrating his 1/2 birthday on the cruise. Since he NEVER gets to celebrate his birthday alone it was really special. The cabin decorations were fantastic. I took them home with us and we have used them for every single birthday since the trip. The only negative thing that I would say about the package was about the cake. There is SO much food on the cruise we never made much of a dent in it.

I know I've been absent from the thread. Normally I'd be burning up the keys on my computer with excitement about this trip. As I may have mentioned before (or for any of you that are friends with me on FB have seen) my employement has been in question. My company is in runoff and filed for bankrupcy. Last Friday (on my 9 year service anniversary) I was given 60 days notice. My last day at work will be March 6.

We are holding off making the hard decision what to do about the cruise. We don't have to make final payment till February so I'm holding out in case I'm able to find a new job and see if they will let me have the time off, or know that I can't take the time off and rebook for a different cruise. If I'm still unemployed by our payoff date then we will rebook a dummy date further out so we have something to look forward to.

I hope that the stars alighn and we are able to keep our vacation plans intact so that I can meet you all!

Jane, I understand what you are going through. We were told before the end of last year our company was going to restructure but we would know more around March April timeframe. Well, our company has had a not so funny comedy of errors since the week before Christmas and hasn't gotten any better.

We still decided to let DS know about his "Christmas present" the cruise knowing the uncertainty. But thought I was in a somewhat stable position. Well the bomb got dropped today. I won't know my fate until April 2nd but know that approximently 60%+ of us are gone. So basically I have a 1 in 3 chance of retaining my position. CRAZY! Everything has gone CRAZY!

I am holding off paying until last minute too. I wish you all the best in your job hunt. I know I am starting already. I hope everything works out that we all can enjoy this escape from reality!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

So sorry hear about your un-empolyment situation. I have been worried about my job as well and held of telling my DN about the trip, incase I needed to cancel.

I work for an insurance agent and our business has been really slow. I was just told that we are taking on another agent's clients, so they are now increasing my hours. So after a year of uncertainty, I now can pay my final payment and fully immerse my self in planning.

Hope things work out for you, I know hard it is to have to change your plans after all the planning and anticipation. Good Luck, hope we are able to meet you as well.

Thx for the info.

So sorry to hear about your employment situation. I hope something improves and you can join us.

Good Luck!

 Just finished booking my flights & paid my balance for the cruise. Going to join FE group now. Soooo excited!!!!

Now I just need to book hotels for day before the cruise & after and transportation to & from.

In a few days I can begin booking excursion!!! :cool1:

Erin - I'm sorry you are in this situation as well. It is said that misery loves company, but I'd rather no one have to go through this stress. Hopefully you'll be the lucky percentage that gets kept on. I talked to our travel agent and here is what she suggested. She looked at the current price of this cruise and the price for our same cabin category was only $300 more than what we had originally booked it at. If the time comes and the deadline for full payment is here and decisions aren't yet made then we could re-book a dummy cruise at some later date (thereby postponing the full payment deadline), then when we are closer to the actual cruise date we can decide if we want to come back to this cruise and pay the slightly higher cabin rate (which in our case would be less than the cancellation fees). It's just an option. We are waiting till the end of the month to make our decision.

Thanks! I work for a Mortgage Insurance company and have had over 16 quarters of losses. The writing has been on the wall, but we were hoping we could get through the middle of 2012 without having to deal with this.

I've been applying to positions like crazy, just need for that one company to call me back!

Wow, I have been absent from the boards for a while! There are times where I just gotta get away from Disney to help myself get excited! So I have slowly been reimmersing myself in all things Disney since our WDW trip in September... We are still very excited about this cruise and possibly a Panama Cruise next year! We are getting our FE Stuff together and can't wait to explore the ship...

2 Eagle Mom, I sorry about your job. I've got my fingers crossed that you'll get a new job quickly that will let you take time off for the cruise.

Best wishes to those with job loss or potential loss. That would be very stressful. I hope all works out, so we can all sail together.

Final payment made moments ago! Will do three days in Disney World, then Hello "Fantasy"! :worship:

2 Eagle Mom- I am so sorry to hear about your job situation! It is so hard when big changes like this happen. Everything will work out…it always does somehow. Things might not end up how you would have orginally planned, although everything does work out. I hope no matter what, you are still able to sail with all of us in April. It will be a nice get-a-way during these times.
:littleangel:
Steveston- AWESOME for paying off the cruise! So are you going to be doing Disney World for the three days before the cruise? How fun!! My DH, Kiddos and I are going to spend 3 days in Southern Florida before the cruise, just the 5 of us! The In-Laws are joining us on the cruise, so we figured the extra days before the cruise would be good for us. CAN’T WAIT!!:grouphug::cool1:

Donald Quakers- HOW EXCITING!!! If I had a Disney trip before the Fantasy cruise I would be going nuts!! I wouldn’t know what to do… I think my kids would die of excitement! They already can’t stand the idea that we are officially under 100 days until the cruise! :woohoo:

This weekend we completed the Passport applications for the three kiddos!! What a HUGE weight lifted off my shoulders! It is such a pain to get that done for yourself, let alone for three kids :). Thank goodness my husband and I already had outs! Now we just wait for them to come back in the mail. We are figuring they will be arriving by mid March, wow!! The next big thing is in 21 days!! We will get to do our online checkin for the Cruise, OMG CAN’T WAIT!! I scheduled the call from Ariel to come in on the 6th too, the kids don’t know and the girls are going to have a heart attack when Ariel actually calls for them!

I am a huge planner…and I might have gone overboard on the FE gifts. This is my first time doing this, but I love the idea and when I set my heart to something I go all the way- sometimes ‘overboard’. So the question I have for the seasoned FE participants is, how many items do you usually bring? The one good thing about the FE, I will have an empty suitcase coming home for all of our souvenirs…LOL!

96 DAYS until we set sail on our Fantasy Family Vacation!!!
