Cruise luggage recommendations?

We have a cruise coming up on another carrier in a few weeks, and Fantasy in February and found that both of our large cases had died (wheels fell off or just came apart). I opted for an ebags 29" Mother Load rolling duffelbag, and the wife decided on a trip to the Sampsonite outlet and a 27" spinner (four wheeled case) for her use. They both cost about the same, both have good warranties, and I expect them both to last a long while. It really depends on what style you like. I have ALWAYS used a duffelbag for traveling and have several others, but nothing quite as big as the Mother Load 29", and am looking forward to learning the best way to pack it in these next two cruises.

Isn't the ebags mother lode a backpack/suitcase? So the question would be; is it large enough for a week's packing?

The MotherLoad 29" wheeled duffel bag is a LONG ways from a backpack! At a total combined size of 61 inches, it'll just go on an airplane.

The link will show you the bag, I hope. One of the things that I really love about this bag is that the bottom portion is a solid plastic tub, so you can sit it down on a wet street or sidewalk and the stuff inside stays dry. Plus, well, it's enormous!

We use Samsonite water resistant duffels. It doesn't have four wheels, but when our luggage was out in the rain prior to a cruise, only the items packed around the zipper were wet. It has happened to us twice now on DCL because of the way the bags are transferred onto the ship in open crates.

Hard to say about the durability as I just got it. The reviews are very good, and ebags is known to stand behind their products. The rolling is something that I have tried, and must say that the wheels are a little bigger than on a lot of suit cases, so I expect it to work well. Additionally, the wheels are REPLACEABLE and with the use of a metric hex key, can be removed. Ebags says if you break a wheel, they will send you a replacement for free and in their video show how to replace one. My last suitcase was thrown away because the wheels came apart (it was 20 years old) so this will resolve that issue.
