when you are using your dvc pts to book a cruise, is it true that you still have to pay the taxes for the cruise? are these taxes expensive? i feel that it defeats the purpose of using your dvc pts if you still have to pay the taxes

IMHO, using DVC points for a cruise does not make sense. The number of points a cruise requires is very expensive. If a person were to rent their points at $9/pt, they would be able to paying cash for the cruise and still have money left over.

When DW and I bought in June, she talked to co-workers about BLT. Her co-worked go to Disney every 1-3 years and several said they would rent our points if we ever decided we wanted to go on a cruise or someplace else. They liked the idea of being on the monorail and being able to walk to MK.

Everything is included in the points - the only out of pocket expense for the exchange is the $95 xfer fee for leaving DVC and booking elsewhere.
