Hi there!

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before but I don't have time to stalk the threads lol. My fiance and I are planning on doing a Disney Cruise for our Honeymoon. We'll want to arrive the day before so we were going to get a hotel. We were thinking about getting a cheap hotel close to the ship near Port Canaveral but now are thinking it may be better to stay at a Disney Hotel. My question is about the transportation. Would we be getting a Disney Cruise Line Shuttle from our Disney hotel? Is that free? We've only ever taken the Magical Express. Also we would be spending 2-3 days at the parks after our cruise also staying on Disney Property. Would the Cruise Line Shuttle be able to take us back to the Resort?

Thanks!

DCL transportation is $35/person each way.

It can transport you both ways. Do be aware that the pick-up time for the resort to port buses usually starts around 11am, so it will be noon or later before you're at the port.

The DCL transfers from either a WDW resort or MCO are $35 per person each way. The drawback to taking the transfers from a WDW resort to the port is that they typically arrive at the port after noon. If you get an earlier PAT (port arrival time), you would be better off taking private transportation or taking the DCL transfers from MCO. The buses start leaving MCO around 9:15-9:20am. When disembarking, the buses begin leaving from the port to WDW hotels around 9:00am.

I'd recommend staying at the Hyatt at MCO the night before your cruise. It's super convenient and they will pick your luggage up from your room in the morning and get it to DCL to transport to the port.

thanks all! I'll look into the Hyatt
And look at other nearby hotels that have an airport shuttle too. You can leave the airport, go to the hotel, then return to the airport the next morning to catch the Disney transport.

We've done this twice, especially on one night that we arrived about midnight. Very easy and stress free.

Our experience going from a Disney resort has been mixed. At the Wilderness Lodge we were picked up about 11 or so, made two quick stops, got to the port about 12.30, and boarded immediately after checking in. When we stayed at Saratoga Springs, we weren't picked up until almost 1.30pm and got to the port at 2.30.
