I am thinking of ordering a nut free birthday cake for my Daughter on our upcoming cruise.
I searched for pictures and information but nothing I found was recent.

Has anyone ordered a cake recently and was it worth the cost? I am especially interested in the chocolate cake with chocolate mouse filling and the chocolate glaze.

If anyone has a picture it would be much appreciated. pooh:

Hello, we ordered our daughter the chocolate cake, chocolate mousse & filling in Feb. and it was absolutely worth every penny!!! So Delicious. We also received an anniversary cake last year and it was Fabulous!! Unfortunately I'm not sure how to post the pictures. Definitely worth the money. Enjoy your cruise :o

We ordered a "Non-Mickey" chocolate cake once. Paid 32$ for it. It was all "wet" (not moist, there was "water" in it). It looked amazing but it was disgusting. :(

I guess it's hit or miss. (But that was 2 years ago so maybe they changed it since).

FYI They will most likely bring you a small (and free) birthday cake in the dining room...

Problem is that MY DD has a nut allergy and in the past when they celebrate her birthday in the dining room it is usually done without a cake. She is hitting a milestone this year and I wanted a cake for her. But now I am not sure.

Maybe I will ask for a mickey bar with sprinkles and a candle?

If they are aware she has allergies, they will find something I am sure.

This. You CAN order the cake in advance and they can do nut free, gluten-free, etc. It's on the order form. Yes, there is a fee, but there would be a fee for anyone ordering it without special food needs as well, so it's not discrimination.

But yes, if you just want free I'd think the Mickey Bar would be it. (Though every time I've had it as my dessert it comes with sprinkles, so I don't know how they'd make it more dressy.)

Here's a picture of my son's cake from our Thanksgiving 2016 cruise. We had to preorder the cake. It was vanilla with some type of flavored filling (I can't remember). The cake was super moist and absolutely delicious! Hope that helps!

I ordered a cake for my friend one year, and it was just like this one, and yes, delicious!

I don't mind paying extra. It is a very special day. I just want it to taste good.

I chose to have it delivered to our stateroom in the afternoon on his birthday which was Castaway Cay day. There was also an option to have it delivered to the dining room.

I tried to order it in the week prior to the cruise but if I remember correctly, I think they said they needed a week’s notice.

I also brought some decorations onboard to decorate the room a little.

Looks very nice. How did it taste?

My daughter has a peanut allergy. We sailed for our 20th Anniversary with her and I arranged for the cake they bring to the table to be nut free. DCL was amazing with allergies and if you tell them what you want the night before, they will make any dessert happen. Our server knew she liked one in particular (I forget what it was) so every night he would bring it along with another dessert just to try, all the while making sure both were nut safe.
