It's not exactly a book, but Mickey's Unofficial Guide is awesome!! You can access it from Deb Wills's site at www.wdwig.com

If you're looking for DCL specifics, the one referenced above is the best. There are many other cruise books and all will have a section on DCL. We just read through several - mainly for the info on Cozumel and Grand Cayman.

As for accuracy - when it comes to DCL specifics it is best to rely on this board!

I checked one out from the library a few weeks ago called "Carribbean by Cruise Ship" that I have gotten a lot out of. Most of the guide books for the carribbean I had found before mostly talked about hotels and restaurants and lots of other info that I just don't need. The book I checked out just lists attractions and beaches and that sort of thing for each popular port of call, and has some great maps for each port showing where the cruise ships dock and where the main points of interest are. I copies several of the maps and put them in my "cruise folder."

I happened to have a copy of Berlitz's Complete Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships 2002 that I borrowed from the local library yesterday. It gives a frank assessment on the strengths and weaknesses of each major cruise line. It also has a section giving common sense advices on cruising. But, most of the book was dedicated to evaluations of each individual cruise ship. My gosh, there are a lot of them!!!! They included obscure cruise lines that I can't even pronounce their names, much less ever heard of them.
