Cruise Documents

I received my cruise documents today in the mail. Cute booklet with Mickey on the cover. We cruise in about 40 days. My friend is cruising in about 28 days and she has not received anything.

Her TA said that if she checked in online then you won't get the booklet.

I checked in online. Did I do something wrong or should she be worried she didn't get her documents?

The "documents" typically arrive around 30-45 days out. If she has received hers, I'd suggest she ask her TA to track them down. It's possible the documents went to the TA, and the TA didn't recognize that's what it was.

Checking in online has nothing to do with whether you get your booklet or not.

Your cruise documents should arrive shortly before your cruise. I don't know of a timeline Disney has published, so i can't quote a time, but from reading this board over the years it seems they come in during the last 30 days before the cruise. Personally, I know we always check in as early as we can, and always have received our documents for the cruise later and close the actual cruise date.

Just as a reassurance, the cruise documents are really cool, but there is nothing in them you need to go on the cruise. They do have luggage tags, but you can get them easily when you drop off your luggage at the port. The rest of the documents review your cruise itinerary, daily activities, your reserved port excursions, hints for packing…stuff that's fun to read, but nothing required to board the ship. Look forward to getting them, but don't sweat a thing if they seem late! If they don't show up (which based solely on reading these boards I don't think will happen) and you'd like a confirmation, just give DCL a call. Takes a few minutes and can go a long way toward easing the jitters!

You get them no matter how you check in no worries, the thing you need in that packet is your luggage tags.I have always done online check in and got the same docs. If you use a TA then it will sometimes go to them and they give it to you. Have her call her TA in case it's just sitting on his/her desk ( it happens) .

Can someone define cruise documents because if you are talking about the spiral notebook, there is more paperwork than that. So besides the spiral notebook, what else were we supposed to have received?

Inside the notebook are your luggage tags for your checked bags. That's basically the whole "cruise documents" packet. You should have also printed out your signature page when you did you online check in, but you don't really need that, as you can sign a new one at check in at the port.

Thank you! Everyone started talking about Cruise Documents one day before we are about to set sail and I think it freaked us all out for a moment. So yes, I have all of the above. Thank you!!
