Cruise Director Interactions

I’ve had lots of interactions with Natalie Bailey and when Jo was the club host they were totally hilarious together.
I sorely miss them.
I miss the role of club host more than anything so much that to be honest if the entertainment doesn’t pick up and club hosts don’t return this could be a dealbreaker for me.

Pre-Covid, my mom and I were doing a gingerbread frosting activity on the Fantasy and Carly (our CD at the time) was making rounds through the tables and was very engaging and pleasant to talk to.

Post-covid, I saw Ashley on the Dream meeting and greeting folks in the lobby while some photo sessions were going on. She was very nice. I wanted to ask her about the Wish but chickened out haha.

We first interacted with her when she led Bingo sessions and were very happy to see her keep moving up the ranks. Very nice representation of DCL.

I think we mingled with CDs or assistant CDs at Castaway Club parties. None more so than on a Mexican Riviera cruise with fewer than five guests in attendance! They can’t avoid talking to you.

I couldn’t even say there was a CD on my September 2021 cruise; that’s how insignificant they have become (at least to me). Also don’t remember the Captain.

I loved our recent cruises for the sake of the kids but totally missed the evening fun and it kind of seemed a bit flat but it’s early days re Covid but if it stays that way I think I will leave cruising for a while.
We had Darren as our CD but saw nothing of him around the ship but the assistant CD was marvellous and very visible. He was Lee Hawkins. Super friendly guy.
Oh how I wish that they’d fill the club host position again.

We've interacted with several of them over the course of our cruises. I guess it boils down to timing and whether you are in the same place at the same time; and also whether you care to seize the moment and have a brief chat if you do find yourself close enough to get their ear.

We have with Ashley a few times. My teenager actually had a good conversation with her on our Alaksa cruise.
