I have a question about dining on the cruise the ship. Do you sit at a table with only your party or is it a large table with many parties? Just wondering.

We are going to be a party of 5 with possibly 3 other people joining us so I was wondering how the tables would be set up. How would we go about making sure all of our parties could be seated together??:confused3

I appreciate your response.

Thank you.:goodvibes

If you call Disney and ask them to link the reservations # for each party, they will do thier best to make sure you are seated at the same table.

Tables in the dining room seat anywhere from 4 to 10. On our last cruise they had pulled a few tables together to seat a pary of 14.

Thank you for the info. Once my sister decides if she is going to join us or not I will call DCL and have the reservations linked.

If she doesn't join us will be seated at a table with other people or will we have our own table for our party of 5???

It is highly possible that you will be seated with another family. Actually I would expect to be seated with another family.

On the Wonder we had our own table. On the Magic in April we were with two lovely women so both times it worked out.

We have sailed on the Magic 17 times. We have been seated in many arrangements--everything from the 2 of us alone, 2 of us with 3 other parties of 2 (total 8), us with another family (total 5), up to us with a family of 16 (this was a special request and the families were able to meet each other first....long story).

If you want to be seated with just your family, let DCL know. They will try to do it. However, we have had great experiences with other families. They try to match the ages/sexes of kids, so it usually works well. If you meet your table mates the first night and there is an issue, let the head server know and you will be moved.

To arrange to sit with friends from another cabin (or relatives....) the code word is "linked." You want your ressies "linked" which identifies you as one party for dinner seating.

Great. I will remember to make sure to say "linked" if my sister decides to join us. Right now it is me, my husband and 2 dd's on one reservation and my mother on another. But I booked the reservations together as two cabins. My sister decided she might join us after I made the reservations with my mother. So we will definitely want the reservations "linked" if she decides to join us.

I am sure it will probably be nice dining with others. It is good to know if it isn't that they might be able to do something about it. :goodvibes

Thanks for the info.
