While driving back home today a poll question occured to me: How many people use the cruise contol on their car? I personally never use it. I prefer to use my foot at all times. I think you have more control and a faster reaction time. Also, I am able to position my foot so I stay about the same speed without it. My Mom on the other hand always uses it and wouldn't purchase a vehicle without it.

What about you: Do you use cruise or not?

I have it but don't use it. I like the control, but don't have a stick, go figure.

I have used it on a rare occasion, but really I prefer to have the control myself. I will use it on long drives to 'stretch out' for a few, so to speak.

Yep, I use mine in my truck. When I get in my SO's car, that's usually the first thing I miss when I'm driving down the road. His car doesn't have cc. That doesn't sto me from trying to activate it though.

Yup, just on long driving trips through the desert.

The only times Ive used it on my car which Ive had since February was on the way home from the dealership to test it out, and on our 1300 mile trip to WDW.

I use it every chance I get. A lot of my travelling is done on highways and I always use it then.

I don't use it when I'm driving through the neighborhood or on city streets.

My DH uses it every chance he gets but I never use cruise control.:D

Never, ever use it. We're just too crowded on the highways around here. For long trips on open, QUIET roads, DH uses it occasionally.

Control freaks! LOL!

Yes, when out, away from the city, on tollways and limited access highways. Also once in awhile to move my right leg around if on a long drive, even if not a tollway, gives the arthritis in the knee a break with some movement. I think it has been in every car of ours for past 20 years.

DH uses it quite a bit, I don't use it nearly ever...

Here's a link to a recent story in our area that has made me think twice about using it.......

Faulty Cruise control?

I'll almost always use it if I'm going on a long trip on the open highway, but if I'm in traffic or for everyday use, nope.

Nope. I'm a control freak - I NEED to have my foot on the pedal at all times.;)

I use it on long trips, or if it is likely that my foot will be too heavy. What I mean is, in deserted areas where I might be tempted to speed, I set the cruise at what I think is reasonable and don't press the accelerator any more! So far, never had a speeding ticket (knock on wood).

It depends on where I'm going. If I'm traveling on a road that I know cops tend to be, I'll use cruise control. I also use cruise control at night. I don't know why, but I feel 'safer' driving with CC at night. Otherwise, I don't use it.
