Cruise Comparison Pricing

We are in the early stages of planning our first cruise ever! I would like to compare pricing for different cruise lines including DCL.

I would appreciate it if, those of you out there who are veterans to crusing, would offer your opinions as to your top 5 favorite sites for cruise pricing that has yielded good results for you in the past. I am already familiar with DU and Cruise.com.

I'm a first time cruiser and by far NO EXPERT but I do love to research my vacations and have found this website very helpful.

You give your cruise info, dates, preferences etc. and then cruise TA's contact you via email with their prices. Very easy

Right now I am dealing with cruisedeals.com and the customer service has been excellent!

I often use www.cruise.com and www.vacationstogo.com

Both sites are very helpful in researching different cruiseline pricing. Both have prices listed at their website but do say to call to make sure price is accurate at time of booking.

I find www.cruise.com the best!!!

On my 1/04 and my 1/05 cruises I asked for quotes from cruisecompete with no luck. I think I got a couple responses for 1/04, but found it cheaper elsewhere. Maybe that prejudiced me. Because when I asked for quotes for 1/05, I only got 1 response, and it again was beat by someone else, so I haven't booked w/cruisecompete. I would have thought I'd get more responses too.

There are lots of online companies you can comparison shop...cruisequick, bestpricecruises, icruise, crucon, cruisebrothers, cruise411, travelocity, orbitz, expedia, and many others including the list above. Just make sure your quote includes the fare and all taxes/port charges. You want to be sure you are comparing apples to apples.

You should also know their cancellation policies in advance, as well as whether or not they honor price drops and whether they will accept coupons if you later find one. Also, make sure that you are being charged directly by the cruise line, not the TA, in case the TA folds. Happy hunting!
