Can't believe I am even considering this after reading what they have done to other people on the last med cruise. But they must have had a lot of spaces to fill on the other August cruises if these are good prices they are now offering. actually that is where my ignorance comes in - are they good prices?

For 2 people -
1312 for inside stateroom
1688 for porthole
2054 for Navigator verandah

If they are good prices which would you go for?

I believe they had offers like this last august as well. There has been little to no promotion appearing for these cruises so I'm not surprised they are having problems!

We were on the magic for a week in December and loved our large porthole, we didnt spend much time in our room it it was nice to see where we were the weather etc, I know a lot of people get by on the inside rooms but I think I would go a little stir crazy being on there a week without a window.

I don't think we would ever to verrandah, we don't spend enough time in the room and are more than happy to walk up stairs and go on deck.

It's the 7 night sailings Lauren, using code MEO to get the discount.

To me they are fair prices, not cheap but certainly not expensive. Cheapest Disney cruise we did we paid £50pppn(not recently), most expensive(Easter, paek prices) £100pppn. Your quote is £93pppn so towards top end but its peak school holidays so as I say fair price IMO.

As for which cabin, we were upgraded to verandah on our 1st cruise, used it 10 mins in 4 days, complete waste, for others its essential. On Magic or Wonder we try get Secret Porthole cabins(pay inside price get obstructed porthole) always managed it until the Easter sailing, had to accept 2 inside, wouldn't hesitate booking inside again we only sleep and change in there.
Booked inside for this August but its on the Dream so virtual porthole, I believe they are now selling for more than a real porthole cabin:confused3

Thanks Wayne.

I'd agree that they are reasonable prices. We're going on a 4-night cruise on the Dream in September and it works out at £96pppn for a Deluxe Inside Stateroom (10A GTY, so it's subject to change).

I had an Inside on my Panama Canal cruise a few years back - 2 weeks without a window, I was dreading it!

In actual fact it was absolutely fine! It was great for afternoon naps as there was no light coming in - it's also still easy to see what the weather is like outside or where you are as one of the tv channels is an on deck camera. Obviously not quite the same but a decent compromise.

Windows are nice, Verandah's are a luxury, I loved my verandah, but if money was an issue I'd book an Inside again without batting an eyelid though think I'd prefer it on a higher deck.

Thanks all. Anyone know how much I need to allow for tips each night - seem to recall it adds up to quite a bit!

And how about excursions? Florence and Pompeii are tempting but not sure what is involved.

Just replied to your post on the DCL board!

Never look at the UK site!!!!

Calculator here to work out tips http://cruisetip.tpkeller.com/
Suggested tips work out at $12pppd total for 7 nights 2 people $168.

As with all tipping its down to the service you get, Its my choice not to tip the Head server. Last 2 cruises we had great servers so tipped more than suggested but both assistant servers not as good as they should be so tipped them less. Last cruise we didn't have a great stateroom host so halved his tip.
Tipping for drinks is included (15%) but we usually added another $1 each time we get one, if you drink at a regular spot the extra tips tend to get you faster service and stronger drinks.
Tip $1-2/case when you drop off your luggage.
Lastly room service a couple of $'s a time.

To be honest the prices are around the same as offered when I booked last May, but obviously the prices have gone up meantime

Did they ever sort you out?

I must be mad but we have just booked the 13 August trip! Think we will probably go for a few days to Barcelona beforehand!

Just saw this, you're on our cruise Mikki, great stuff!
Counting down the days now :)

:goodvibes

Glad you are on the same cruise as Luke Mikki, someone to keep an eye on this tearaway:rotfl2:

Moi? Tearaway? Well, maybe a little, but only during school holidays ;)

:goodvibes

Maybe Luke can give me a few pointers - I haven't got a clue where or how to start planning! I am out of my comfort zone - WDW is second nature but a cruise? Oh boy!
