Cruise ABCs

We're taking our son out of his K4 program for the cruise-- no biggie as far as we or the school is concerned. However, the teacher mentioned bringing a photo album in for him to share with the class. So, being the overachieving mother that I am ( ), I've decided to do an ABC book for him. He'll have to find things on the ship that begin with each letter of the alphabet, I'll take a picture of it and then we'll put it into a small scrapbook album for him to share with his friends. It will also be a great keepsake, I think.

Well-- now for the question. What on earth can we take a picture of for the letter Q?? I'm trying to prethink the hard letters (told you I was overachieving!) so I don't spend a moment of the cruise stressing over this. For Z, I'm going to take a picture of DS snoozing (catching zzzz's) in his pull out bunk or on a lounge chair, or at the dinner table... whatever!

Any thoughts on Q??

Quarreling Maybe?

Like maybe taking a picture of your ds and your dh pointing their finger in opposite directions of the ship (like they want to go different places) trying to tug each other playfully in that direction. I hope this makes sense or I will be embarressed

I'm trying to think if there's a Queen character on board, but I can't remember. Also, you may do one for quiet time... HTH. :flower1:

what about a picture of Donald Duck (saying Quack)? Or I can't remember if there are any Queens in Golden Mickey's or Disney Dreams.

We saw the Queen of Hearts on our Eastern Magic in March.

How about Que the Bingo caller?

Maybe he will find another CM whose name begins with Q.

Maybe another ship docked alongside you at one of the ports whose name begine with a Q.

Isn't the adult pool called Quiet Cove? Maybe a picture of the sign.

Good luck. Sounds like a fun project.

I think you'll find some pictures on the walls of some of the evil queens when you are in Animator's Palette, such as the evil queen in Snow White, or perhaps the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.

What fun! hope you have a blast!

Yes, there is the Queen of Hearts from Alice in wonderland....we saw her posing for pics in the atrium..."Off with their heads!!!" This was on the Magic.

And, if I can remember correctly, I thought I saw a wall of artwork with each picture dipicting a letter of the alphabet with corresponding drawing on one of the decks....I think possibly it was on Deck 5 somewhere. Anyone else know what I am talking about??? They were more like sketches but there were individual ones for each letter.

Or, you could always take a picture of Que, from Cruise Staff....he is always up for a photo op....he hosts many of the events, games, pool stuff, deck parties...!!!

You guys never let me down!!! What wonderful ideas! I'll probably enjoy this project far more than DS :cheer2: DH accuses me of having kids just so I have an excuse to do these sort of things!

What about X ????

Xtra food at the buffet? (although, that may confuse a young one learning to spell!)

Hopefully we won't see an x-ray machine...

Actually you can use X for Xray as they are scanning the carry on luggage in the terminal!!!!

That would work, though I would suggest asking the folks running the scanner if it is OK to snap a photo....security and all. Last thing you would want is to have your camera confiscasted before you even board!!!

Another "Q" word that I sincerly hope doesn't happen to you or ANY family -- Quarantine - boo, hiss - bad, bad word, but it does start with "Q".

The best Q photo has to be that of Q of the cruise staff (Magic). What a fun guy!!

Another idea, which we did for our son, is buy him a disposable camera and let him take his own pictures of things that are important to him. My son did this and it was fantastic to hear him tell HIS story about our cruise.

What a great idea. Being a scrapbook fanatic, I was starting to think about doing my baby's ABC book. I think now that I will wait till our cruise and make it cruise specific. She'll be 18 months at the time and it will be perfect!!! Thanks, and keep sharing those letter ideas!!!!! ~Jennifer

P.S. The Creative Memories 7 x 7 Disney album (red with a mickey head on the front) would be PERFECT!!! (You can get one thru your local CMC or it you need help, let me know...I"d be happy to get one to you!) Not trying to sell anything here, it would just be a GREAT and very special little book!!!

jweis-- Way ahead of you on that one! I have my CM Mickey Head album standing by...

On one of the decks (I think 5) there is a hallway with the entire alphabet done in sketches. Yes Q is for Quarantine. If nothing else one or two shots from this could round out the book.
