Hey everyone!! I'm back from my brother's wedding in Chicago. Boy, you guys were busy. I had a ton to read!!!
First off, overall the trip was wonderful. The weather was a little cold for my FL blood, but it was nice to have a change. Emily walked down the aisle with her flowers beautifully, but of course, she had no desire to stay quiet in church, so she was wisked out of the sanctuary by my MIL. Now, my baby brother is off to Aruba with his new wife. I almost cried a few times, but I did hold up until Saturday night (the wedding was Friday) when we were leaving to go back to the hotel. My brother starting crying that he was going to miss us when we left, and I lost it. My brother and I have a very close relationship, so when he moved back to Chicago after living so close to me for 5 years, it was a sad day for us!! But, we'll have lots of reasons to head back home to Chicago now.
My family and friends were very excited when we told them of our upcoming arrival. And, the biggest shock of all came when my best friend from high school told me that she is also pregnant and due the day after me. We both just couldn't believe it!!! We knew that we were both going to try to get pregnant, but who would have guessed that were were going to be due only 1 day apart. We'll have a blast chatting about all of this, but Chris is worried about our long-distance bill.
But, our trip ended with tons of things going wrong!! First off, we got off the plane in Tampa and our stroller (which was gate checked) was not there. And, neither were the other 2 strollers on our flight. They forgot to put them on the plane. Then, we realized that we couldn't find our digital camera. We couldn't remember if we picked it up from security in Chicago, or if we did, but left it in the bottom of the stroller when we gate-checked it. Well, when we did get our stroller back late last night, no camera. I've made calls to United and O'hare, so keep your fingers crossed for us. Unfortunately, if it's not found, then we won't be able to wait for insurance, because the cruise is so close. And, I lost all of the pics from my brother's wedding.
And, to top it off, Emily pee'd on Chris, while he was holding her. We lost our car at the airport (wrong level), we ended up in a lane at the airport that some guy was taking forever to pay, we went to the wrong terminal to pick up our family with all of our luggage, and the terminals were all backed up, so it took forever to get back to our family. Needless to say, last night was a nightmare!!!
But, besides the camera being gone, the trip was a great time. And now, I get to start laundry, and packing for the cruise.
