Hi fellow Dis'ers,
I was wondering if any of you know when the new movie, the Haunted mansion is coming out and if it might premier on our cruise? I was on a cruise when 'Remember the Titans' came out and it was a blast. They did the whole red carpet thing for us. I would love it if our timing was that good again...
DS Ben will be coming home from Brazil this Thursday, so we have an exciting 2 weeks before we hit the Magic! He's been gone 2 years, so it will be a great reunion. I can't wait for that and for the cruise. What a thrill it will be to finally meet all of you.
Also, do you know if the new show, Golden Mickeys, will be starting on our cruise? It sounds great.
thanks, I'd better haul out the suitcases too... fun.

Renae, I think we might miss the "Haunted Mansion". I seem to remember it opens the following week:(
But..I think it's a good bet we will get "The Golden Mickeys".

Enjoy you reunion with your DS!

Good Morning all! Got some more packing done yesterday. DH actually tried on his suit (without complaining) to make sure it still fits and it does! I still don't know how we're going to be able to pack for 12 days and fit all of it in our suitcases.

Renae, the Haunted Mansion is not released until November 26, so I guess we'll miss it. :(

Good Morning everyone.

I decided this morning I have to really try to do some cleaning, next weekend will be too busy for me. See how well I convinced myself.....I'm here with you instead. This is much more fun! Maybe after I get back from from DD's house (to get the first of my 4 - 5 times a day new grandson fix) I'll do some housework. I don't how I am going to get through the next two weeks of work. They are going to draaaaagggg. I guess you can tell that my brain is just going from one thought to the next without pause. The closer this cruise gets the worse it becomes. I wake up during the night and I find mself either mentally packing or driving to the airport, or giving my "You better behave speech" to my grandson and nephew who are going with us. Anyway, I know I'm not the only one who does this (please tell me I"m not!). My husband thinks I need medication. He also thinks he's a comedian.

Have to go, sorry for rambling on, and on, and on.......Denise.

Hi to all,

Just got done with last day of garage sale yesterday. Now we can concentrate on cruise.

Rosemary,
We had unlimited internet access last cruise and will again this time to keep in touch with our office. It was well worth it as the charges per minute are steep. I don't know if it has changed but we were new to this and were charged extra for sending e-mails that we sent through the cruise servers the first day and did not know to link up to our server, AOL. This means you must be on line at a different time as anyone back home that is using your same account. I complained about the charges to the computer lady that was SUPPOSED ( she was busy chatting on line most of the time) to help with info and keeping the computers running. She refused so I went over her head and got my money back. So unless they have it set up differently, I suggest to ask for help the first day just to make sure you have it right. The best time to be on the computers is in morning or mid afternoon, by night we would have to wait as there was no time limit , kids and teens mostly on,and also a few computers would not be working. In other words if you don't want to waste time at night trying to get on a computer then do it in the morning. Also, the computer lady made it clear that the cruise line did not like us sharing our access with others in another state room. I ignored them as we were sharing it with family and friends. Otherwise except for a few cliches it was a wonderful way to keep in touch with my elderly parents and our DD left at home and business.

Sue Ellen, glad to hear your power was restored I believe YOU and your family are due for some REAL pampering in less than 2 weeks.

Piglett33, Good idea about sending the buttons ahead of you as I doubt you would get through airport security with a carry-on full of sharp pins. I know they are still pretty strict at our airport. Thanks again for making them.

I know we have a little under 2 weeks left, but time will go fast and the pressure will be on to get out the door.

SO - A BIG BIG THANK YOU to all you on this board that have been preparing to make this a memorable and wonderful life experience for each of us. I am sure that Walt Disney would be proud of the "imaginEARS" on this cruise! The giving human spirit that inspires so much joy and wonder in this world is alive and well thanks to all of you on this board. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it! It will be an honor to meet all of you!

So from our family to yours, we wish you ALL peace, patience and a safe and hassle free journey to our common destination on the Disney Magic.

See ya real soon.

About computers on board. Jeff heard a rumour that they might be installing high speed internet access in the room, a network on board if you will, that would allow people to hook up in their rooms, not just at the lounge. Haven't heard much on it, and unfortunatly we'll be the guinea pigs to find out on the 11th... Just a thought

Hi guys, This is Kim,

I called DCL and had them forward e-mail to the computer people about the rumor of new access availablilty. I was told that they are looking at PC network cards that you load into your laptop and then you can use your computer. However they told me they did not know if the wireless internet would work more than 200 feet from the computer station. I have to work while on the cruise so we have set up new account e-mails on my officer server and I will just use Disney computers and sign in to my via a new hotmail account and then I can do my reports and keep in touch with my staff.

Bye, Kim

RellingTwin . . .

Have you heard for sure they are putting the Golden Mickeys onboard? I sure hope so! And, what night do you think this would show?

It's my understanding that the Golden Mickey's will not premier on the Magic until later this year (late Nov to early Dec), which is too bad because this show is awesome! I was so hoping to share it with my family.

As for pampering--I had to spend my spa money on a generator so we are out of luck! Oh well! At least we can eat on the ship for free.

I sure would like to know more about that email access with your own computer--is this the same type of charge as the unlimited access on board, or is it lower priced--or do we even have any details?

Sue Ellen

So as long as someone is calling and asking, I already have a wireless network card in my machine. So does that mean that I just have to pay for access? I'd really like to be able to keep my pages up-to-date for my co-workers and family and keep up with my e-mail specifically so I don't come home to 4000 or so messages. Also, it would help for Tony's research so that his homework goes quicker.

When someone has details, let us know.

On a brighter note, I'm about 3/4 of the way packed. I've lightened my luggage quite a bit and it's actually addictive! I keep thinking "do I really need to take that????" and now I'm afraid that I'm going to be leaving something I really could have used. I even went so far as to go through my personals bag and took out some of my makeup and such. Man....

So, Tony still hasn't started pakcing but the homecoming dance was last night and he had fun. Went with a really pretty little gal who was just thrilled that I could get her in even though she didn't have her ID (I volunteer with the school) and that I paid for their pictures. First real date Tony's been on since he broke up with his long-time girlfriend a couple months ago (they're still good friends and she was at the dance too). Hopefully I'll be able to get him going this week.

Now, Salon appts and all. I had planned on making my Spa appts right when I get on board but I also want to get in the salon just before Formal Night and have them put up my hair. Is that difficult? Will the place be booked? Anyone else any good with hair? :)

Still haven't not heard from DCL on the Tulum Ruins outing. Should I mail again? Call? Someone help me thinK!!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGE !!!

Sorry to be so late with the birthday wish George. So much happens when you are away from the boards for a few days.

We took Friday and Saturday to visit colleges with DS. He only had a half day of school, so we thought that would be a good time to take a few days and do some college tours. He is still not sure what he wants to do or where he wants to go. The biggest thing he knows is he does not want something with Math and Science like his Sister and he doesn't want to go to the University of Delaware where is Sister is. Oh will, no two kid discount for us.

So we went up to Albany and visited Union College, Siena College and SUNY Albany. Then we headed to Boston and stopped at UMASS Amherst on the way. On Saturday we toured Boston University and drove around Northeastern. On the way home we just took a quick drive by UCONN.

It was a busy two days. Boston University was number one on DS's list of the schools we visited.....naturally it is also the most expensive. I told him he better earn lots of big scholarships. Its funny. About a week ago he got a letter for the Bostson University Engineering school asking him to take a special test to get an engineering scholarship because his math scores were high.....but Engineering is not where he wants to go. He does good in math and science, but he just doesn't like it.

The search continues, but he now has some ideas on what to look for.

padisneyfan, yes we have already booked for the Oct 2nd 2004 cruise. We actually booked a different week on our last cruise because they were not offering those weeks yet (the new intinerary). When they came out with those dates and others on our Cruisetoberfest II cruise seemed to cluster on that week, we moved our reservation.

Nancy from Pa: Yes, white for cruise logo, yellow for hunt.
but someone probably already PM you with the answer.

Also spending a lot of time thinking about the trip. But have not had any time to do anything close to packing. I worked my last shift at my "other" job today. I'm not on the schedule again until 10/25! "needs medication.....comedian" LOL
tevagirl, what has your son been doing in Brazil? I hope you all have a great reunion!:D

Mary, DH has nixed our idea for leaving the guys at the port while we do the car swap thing. But I figure we can get the guys to make it up to up.;)

Got a new site for smiles, so I have to try one out.

Tammy...congrats on your packing. I have finally learned my lesson after overpacking for 3 cruises. I have 3 "nice" outfits (2 dresses and a pantssuit) 4 pair of shorts 4, tops and 2 sun dress type things (which I can also use for a bathing suit cover up)2 bathing suites, 2 pair "dress shoes" 1 pair sandals, 1 pair of flip flops, 1 night gown.

Kids each have 4 "nice outfits" and 4 shorts/tops sets 2 bathing suites, 1 pair dress shoes, 1 pair sneakers, 1 pair flip flops.

DH has 3 pair slacks,3 pair shorts, 1 sports coat, his tux, 4 polo shirts, 3 t-shirts, 2 bathing suites 2 pair dress shoes,1 pair sneakers and flip flops.

I think our 2 garment bags, and two suitecases will be all we need. Of course I always bring an extra suitcase(collapsible) for all the extra stuff we come home with!

Spa stuff. Tammy you can make all your spa and solon appts as soon as you board.

SueEllen, you may want to look into being reimbursed for you generator. The FEMA folks bought a lot of those bought here after Hugo.

Nancy and Jeff....what a nice thing to say!

I'm bummed about the Golden Mickeys show...I thought for sure we'd get it after dry dock.Oh well just have to wait until 10/02/04 to see it.

Hi fellow Cruisers,
Thanks Rellingtwin for letting me know about the Haunted Mansion, but now I'm confused... I heard from a few of you who all told me different times for when it and the Golden Mickey's show do come out... I guess I'll find out when I get on board.

I finally got our new home unpacked yesterday from our move 2 months ago, so now I can pack suitcases for the trip. It will be good to come home to a house that isn't all boxes! I wonder if I need to get all new swimsuits for us since it's been a while since we went swimming. Ben will be a glow in the dark white after wearing a suit and tie for 2 years! DS Dave and I burned so bad last year at Stingray city that I ended up wearing a sarong for 3 days and not getting off at Cozumel! Talk about glow in the dark, ouch!!! Anyone know about the super sunscreen that is supposed to be waterPROOF instead of just resistant? I will definitely need some of it, or wear a black Tshirt in the water. I don't ever want to do that again...
Congrats to everyone who got their docs. Is there anyone left who doesn't have them? We booked with All Seasons and got ours weeks ago. I keep looking at them and dreaming of sitting on our verandah looking at the night ocean. That's my favorite part!
One more question... Are any of you scrapbookers going to take any of your stuff to work on during the cruise? I haven't had time to do any pages since our move, and I would like to do some light cropping on board. Company would make it even more fun. Let me know, so I know what to bring or not bring.
Renae:confused: :smooth: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hi Ave',
That wasn't my son in Brazil, it was Renae's, but thanks for the kind thoughts anyway!

Renae(auntrenae ) is WaltJr's better half. She is just trying to confuse us
She did confuse me. I had to do a search of her previous posts (all seven of them!) to find out that she was walt's other half! LOL!

So, now I am really confused. I planned on using my yahoo email account, not my server account with Optonline, to retrieve and send emails. Is that going to be a problem? I figured since yahoo can easily be accessed from any computer terminal, that is the way to go. Am I thinking in the right direction? I was also thinking I might be able to keep up with my Survivor Fantasy League on the CBS website. I mean if we can't use the ship's server, what's the point??

BTW - Thanks to all who responded to my questions! I am certain you will come to my aid with these most recent ones too!
:D

Rosemary you can use your yahoo account just fine. If you go through the ships email system it is expensive. When you log on just log onto the internet not the cruise mail for the ship and use yahoo like you normally do. I set up my yahoo account two years ago while on the ship and use it all the time when I am onboard or even here at home. Hope this clears it up. Mike

Denise and Renae, sorry for the mix-up.

Maybe Mary and I can pay you both back with a little confusion while on board.
