Cruise 10/11/2003 Part 2

Dan - We were waiting to submit our cell#'s because we planned on getting new phones and then getting a calling card for one of the old ones that would allow us to make phone calls without roaming charges. If we went through with this plan, the phone number for that "travel" phone would not be the same number we now have.

We went to AT&T yesterday and they advised us to keep our old phones - they are perfectly good and one of the better models - and instead, upgrade the service. So, we made some changes and for the same amount of money we now have nationwide service (we always had free long distance) with no roaming fees. I think we have less minutes and they are no longer shared but we never got near our minute count anyway. This will work for us. Now, who do I submit our numbers to? Scootersmom???

Mary--- You will be proud of me, I made my Capt Marvin reservations. Made them on the internet tonight and put down about being with the Cruisetoberfest II group. I'm on a roll tonight. I think the only thing left is to order a cart for the scavenger hunt. Has anyone else done that?

Will need to look at what excursions are available in Cozumel when we get that information which should be soon since we can make reservations 60 days out. Of course, can just spend the day at Carlos and Charlies.

Dan-- We did get to see the name tags, logo for both the cruisetoberfest shirt and scavenger hunt. She had two styles for each of the logo and she got input from everyone which they liked better. I believe she is going to send to everyone to view.
We also discussed the T shirt colors, but don't remember what the final decision was on the colors.

Yes, Kathy unveiled the nametags and shirt designs in Baltimore and she did a wonderful job. I'm sure you will be hearing from her shortly.

Eric - Those shots of Richie were really just photo ops. He didn't go anywhere. After I posted them, I thought the same thing: "OMG people are going to think he is riding around with no protection and look at those skinny legs of his!" He was always on the thin side and he still is not back to the same weight he was before he got that bout of pneumonia this winter.

MaryJo - RE: Sarah wanting to go to the meet next week - There is something about only children being very determined. I can definitely relate to what you are going through....

Hi Nancy - How'd you know I was gonna address my next post to you? LOL

Regarding what you wrote about the Radisson shuttle - Richard is now thinking maybe we should drive the car to the port and leave it there. I said that I believe (from things I have read) that you were probably referring to people waiting with luggage and such. If he was to drive me to port with the luggage and drop me off and then go back to Radisson, one person getting on a shuttle without luggage shouldn't be a big problem - or is it?? Mary/Ave - You guys did this too, didn't you. I'd appreciate your input and anyone else who had experience with this.

And again Nancy - Rich and I so enjoyed sharing our meal with you and Norm. It was kinda nice to have our "own" table and private party. Easier to keep track of conversation too when one has a hearing problem as Richard does. So, thanks again for your wonderful company.

Fiona - So glad Jim is feeling a bit better and so glad you were able to make Gettysburg. Rich and I love going there. For a place where such a bloody battle took place, we find it strangely peaceful. Nancy - We camped down there too once. And it is my dream to take the bikes one day and ride around the area. One day....

Well, I was thinking of trying for 5 grand also but first we are too far from it and second I have this Omaha trip looming over my head and I do need to get to bed. There is a lot to do before we leave. Rich already began his vacation but I have a few more days of work. Although, poor Rich has plenty of work he is doing around here on the first few days of his "vacation".....

Rosemary--- We also enjoyed your company. I didn't even realize that Rich had a hearing problem. Of course, all men seem to have a hearing problem at times. (Sorry guys, I just couldn't resist).

As for the shuttle to the port. Yes, it is much easier if someone drops you off and just one person is using the shuttle. However, on our May trip the shuttles were not allowed to just drop you off at the front any more. So I think it would be the same if you were being dropped off, you will need to be dropped off in the parking lot and then have to haul your luggage over. Anyone else know if it is still this way. It is constantly changing. Hard to keep up with it.

Just wanted to say we had a good time at Baltimore also. George was very reluctant to go (hates social situations where he doesn't know anyone) but I think he ended up having a good time. Sorry I didn't get to talk to everyone for long enough.
Glad to meet the new neighbors - Tina and Bill. Can you imagine that we actually know people who "Rode the Ducks"? And they didn't consume alrge amounts of alcohol first - at least as far as we know.

BTW, I was looking for furniture to go in the family room in the new house. DH and I remember seeing an armchair and he even thinks he saw a loveseat. (Narrow room, don't think a full couch will fit). If anyone is going to the Village or knows where I could find out where/how to order this kind of furniture I would greatly appreciate it.

My daughter is 12, but looks like she 15 or 16. She is quite mature for her age ( ) She hasn't been corresponding with anyone about this--what other ages are keeping in touch? (see what happens when you have a million things going on at once!) I'm sure she would LOVE to make friends in advance and have email pals.

I have to find the info on the brunch--is it planned for Sunday (Key West) or another day? We are definitely doing Brunch--just to figure out which day/time we are doing it though. Last year we just had my daughter stay with the little one instead of booking Flounders for the brunch. It worked well for us.

Anyway--the trip will be here before you know it--
