Ok, now I can't remember who told me that they wouldn't mind a 2 year old at their table, and would consider trying to get at the same table for dinner. With being out for the past month, I just completely forgot to send you my reservation number, so we could link our ressies. Oh, and we're at the early seating. Let me know.

Hi, Amy!

I think you wanted to be linked to our table with bettemom and Kim. I sent our reservation number to Kim and she's linking us. You know we won't mind sitting with a 2 year old! ;)

Oh, I showed Jen the pics of Emily getting her haircut and they took Becca for her first WDW trip last week and had her first haircut done there! Soooo cute!!

Colleen

Colleen -

Thank you so much. I knew that someone had mentioned it, but I just couldn't remember who. I'll have to dig up my ressie and send it. Also, for now, my mom and aunt are coming on the cruise too (they might have to cancel, since my mom's been out of work since Jan). Anyway, I wonder if they'd mind 2 more ladies???

Also, I have to say that the people that do children's first haircuts at WDW do the best job. We took Emily for her 2nd haircut when we stayed at WDW for a couple of day after we got home from the Bahamas. Maura was the lady that cut Emily's hair both times and she is just awesome. Emily didn't mind one bit. I think she wondered what this lady was doing, but she didn't cry at all. However, I did keep her busy with bubbles, spinning toys, and stickers, so that could have helped. Chris and I both said that we are going to just keep going out there to get her haircut when it needs it. Plus, it gives us an excuse to come back to MK, like we need an excuse. ;) ;) ;)

Amy,

The more the merrier...Any one else care to join us....We are every age imaginable....Just let us know....

Colleen...Will email you this weekend about August meet ,really looking forward to it.....

Bette

Kim never recieved ressie numbers...how ever..she deletes anything unfamlier to her...perhaps you should all send ressie #'s to me & put diser in subject line..

Hi! Can you give us alittle more info on this. We are getting into Orlando around 3:00 pm on Friday. Are most of the rides open, etc.? Hope all is well in Rochester. The lakes are starting to warm up now as we got the dock in last weekend. Another short summer but the weather is beautiful now. At least the cruise will extend our summer. When Okwmeister gets back from BCV maybe we can arrange a get together before the cruise for the Minnesota Octoberfest cruisers.

Welcome Stephmarty!! We are rather new to this board and it is great, we look forward to meeting other Disney nuts just like us.

Anyone? What is the best time to plan arriving at the port on Saturday to get in line. I want to make reservations for Palo's and the spa when we board right away. Thanks !!!

Also, did you use Flounder's nursery when you went on your first cruise? We were just wondering how they were.

We did use Flounder's a couple times on our first cruise, but Mollie was just over a year old and still very attached to mom and dad (Stephanie is a stay-at-home mom, so she had no daycare experience). The staff in Flounder's tried so hard, and even pushed her around the ship in her stroller when she was upset. But after a couple visits we realized she was requiring too much one-on-one care, plus she was crying terribly as soon as we walked into Flounder's. She did enjoy going down and playing as a family when the nursery was open for all of us to enjoy. Anyway, she did very well at the shows, not so good at dinner, but we enjoyed keeping her by our side. Luckily, we'll have grandparents along on this cruise!

FYI--a funny aside to this story. In Flounder's, they put name tag stickers on the kids backs. Each sticker is one of the 7 Dwarfs. After they got to know Mollie, we knew something was up when her nametag was always "Grumpy"!

Good morning, all!

Eric-- It's good to hear from you! So glad you got to the USA safely and that you can check in from work now and then.

Bettemom-- I will re-send our reservation number to you to be linked for dinner. I'll watch for your email about an August Ohio meet.

Anyone else interested in Ohio in August.... just pop in and let us know so we can make plans.

Amy-- Not a problem at all for your mom and aunt to join the table for dinner! The more, the merrier! I hope they won't have to cancel.

Have a great day!

Colleen

Thanks

The time we went to it was about 5 years ago and it was really cool. At that time it was only at Universal Studios. We were there during the afternoon (conference got out early) and at the gate they asked us if we wanted to come back that night for the Halloween special. We got the tickets left the park at 5:00pm or so came back around 7:30 and the site was completely different. Fog everywhere ghost and ghouls walking around, special haunted house and short lines. It seems to have grown over the last 5 years.

I have enclosed the link for the event below.

Wonderful Day here in Minnesota. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Matty204.........thanks so much for posting that link. I checked out the pictures and realized that I better stick with the MNSSHP!! My 7 year old would not sleep for a year if she saw those people walking around the street.

I noticed that people were posting bios of their families. It has been really interesting reading them. I finally have a minute to type ours....the Gamble Family Bio....

Michael and I have been married since 1991.

Michael, 36, works for The Tennessee Valley Authority, (TVA). He works at a coal buring power plant. He is an environmental biologist by degree. He works a lot with chemistry in his job. He has been there since 1992. He works long hard hours to keep up with all my vacation plans! :)

Hope, 35, (ME!). I have a degree in PR and Marketing. Never explored that area. Worked as a secretary for two years before Megan was born. Have been a stay at home mom since February 7, 1994! I took a part time job at the girls pre-school in 1999. I have a class of eight two year olds. I am very fortunate. I work from 8:30 - 2:30, T, W, Th. My girls have to be at school at 7:30 and I pick them up at 2:30. My job follows the school calendar. When my girls are out, so am I. I love my job, most days....too many poopie diapers and I don't really love it! :)

Megan is 9 and in 4th grade. Sara is 7 and going into 2nd grade.

The girls and I are disney freaks. We love anything disney. We would take every vacation at DW if we were able too. We are looking forward to meeting all of you in October!!

Talk to you soon!!

Hope

Even here in Denver I have to save our thread from falling off page1 ;)

Thanks for all your nice greetings.

Tomorrow we will go way north to Estes National Park to do some sightseeing and hiking.
On Sunday we'll go to the Denver Zoo.
And for next weekend we plan to go down to Colorado Springs and take the CogRailway up to Pike's Peak.

Mike,
Wednesday morning I woke up at 530pm due to jet-lag. As I was awake anyway I decided to do some running and did about 3 or 4 miles around the block. Yes, the thin air gets a bit at you, but it's not as bad as I thought.

I'll check the Boards again on Monday.

Folks, have a great weekend

Hope, thanks for the bio. Who's next????

Eric, I'm glad you are going to be able to have some fun while you are in Co. Have a geat weekend!

Tomorrow we will be at 16 weeks! And we will soon be in double digits!

It's so nice so many of us have been able to make plans to meet prior to sailing. I wish there were a North or South Carolina cruiser (even Georgia) who wanted to do a DIS meet! Oh well, I'll just have to wait for Oct 10th at the Radisson.

Small World Story!
Last year at the Radisson I saw a family checking in who were Disney Fans (kids carrying Mickey dolls), so I stoped to say hello. I was really looking for other DIS'ers who we were meeting but I didn't know what many looked like!LOL!So I was not too shocked when the "Mom" of the family turns to me and says a big HI AVE!! Well, Ave is my twin sister, who was also cruising with us but had not arrived at the Radisson yet. The "Mom" turns out to be a doctor from Panama City Fl. (where Ave lives) who she knew Ave very well. I explaned who I was and that Ave was on her way and was expected in a few hours. When Ave got to the Radisson I told her what happened. She stopped by Myra's room to say hello, and to chat about the cruise. We ran into this family many times in the next week both on board and in Ports. NOW... you know Ave has been posting about her new job....it is working for Myra!!! She is currently trying to persuade her to cruise again on the Oct 11th cruise!SO!!! Ave has cruised with her new boss! How cool is that??! Nice to have a boss who is a Disney Nut!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I finally caught up on the last 3 weeks of posting!!

With the outages it has been impossible.

Sorry Rose but I have lots of catching up to do so I'm going to do several little posts.

By the way, HI DAN. No one seems to even be shocked that we ran into each other at MGM. Well I was shocked. But it was nice to see you again. I hadn't bothered to plan a meet since our trips only overlapped by one day.

Loved the hints also about ' i saw someone from our cruise'

Even though the meet fell through with Amy, at least we saw each other.

Nancy

I'd be up for an August 2nd meet as long as I'm free.

Don't know what my work schedule will be by then but keep me up to date.

From way back - see I read ALL the posts. At least this time I took notes.

Eric -
George would love to have a work temperature of 66 degrees F. It's a constant struggle to keep the thermostat set above 70 in the house. When living full time in Florida - 76 seemed cool. Now the 60's seem a little too warm.

I guess it's all relative.

Concerning the gift cards

I would think anything for stores that are in the Merritt Square Mall. That's where the crew bus takes them on their Saturdays off in port. Maybe someone can provide a link. I know there is a JCPenneys and Walgreens.

I think Barb and Tony said that they used to buy internet giftcards and include then with their regular tips when the cast member went above and beyond. May someone has more info on that.
