Vote off Heidi and Jenna. I will be so disappointed if either of them win. I'd like to see Christy win and since Rob has switched sides this might be possible. I don't think Heidi is pretty at all and her behaviour leaves a lot to be desired. I thought both she and Jenna were selfish about the letter that Christy bid on. They don't seem to realize that other people might want to hear from home as well. Rob is playing the game well but we'll have to see how it sits with the jury if he gets to the final two.

Cathy -- I did know that Singer was Harm's wife and that she was really pregnant although it came as a shock. She's so mean on the show but I saw them interviewed and she's really nice and funny. I've watched David James Elliot for years because he's a Canadian from here. He played a cop on a show here for a couple of years. He looks good in any uniform he choses to wear. ;)

I also knew that Sarah was pregnant and you can catch a glimpse of it sometimes. She doesn't look quite as skinny as she did.

I'll send my cell number as soon as I remember what it is. I always have to turn it on and catch it. My DS thinks it's hilarious that I don't know the number but I never call it so I guess that's why it doesn't stick with me. Getting older too.

Must go as we are going to Jays game tonight. Jim and I got season's pass tickets to the Jays for the year for $81 each. We can get tickets to any home game til the end of the season. I think it's the first time that they've had them and I think it's an interesting concept. The seats are way up high but there isn't a bad seat at Skydome so it doesn't matter.

Anyway junk food awaits.

Just dropping a few lines to let you know I have only had time to lurk and not post. I am trying to get my act together to get ready for my May trip. I took Thursday off to shampoo the carpet, part of my list of things that needed to be done before the trip. Why I am bothering to get my house in order when the 20 yr old DS will be there is beyond me, but it is hard to change old patterns. I'm sure he will have it looking just like I left it. Yea right.

I need to get those summer clothes and my cruise clothes out and assess what else I need to buy. Plus trying to still get rid of my fat clothing. Big item spring cleanup is in 2 weeks so all those large items that I couldn't get rid of when I was decluttering has to get out to the curb. I need to get both kids and all there stuff back from college and find somewhere to put all those things. Now that I only have 26 days to go until my trip, I find there is to much to do and not enough time to do it.

I am also that last minute packer which just adds stress so just throw in everything and have a suitcase that weights a ton and enough clothing to last for weeks incase we get standed somewhere.

Survivor is not big in my area, everyone including me is into American Idol. After each show, as I travel to all the different areas in the hospital I get alot of reviews of who should go or stay. However, when the last result show is shown I won't see it as I will be on the plane to Fl. So my girlfriend is going to call my cell phone and leave a message that I can check as soon as I get off the plane. I'm addicted.

Time to go home. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Nancy

Eric....just click on www.cbs.com and then click on the Survivor icon/half page that comes up to see what we are all talking about and addicted to!! I think you can access information about each contestant and who did what!! Mary Jo

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great week. I finished my "training program" at my new second job today. We had two days of verbal and skill demonstration testing. Passing was 80% or better. Those that fail have to repeat the program. But I studied, so I passed everything.:Pinkbounc
This will be my last weekend off for a few weeks. When I go to work this Monday (April 28th) my next day off will be May 17th. :( Hope I make it! I am going on the March of Dimes Walk-a-thon tomorrow morning, and shopping with DD tomorrow afternoon. But I think I'll spend some "me" time on Sunday.
Bettemom; Sorry to hear the pups are keeping you up. Hang in there. They will be all grown up before you know it. :p
Cdmickeylover; I want to now how fast you drive and what kind of car you have. 11 hours from Canada to FL? I guess you never stop for directions!!!
Got to run and pick up dinner. The crowd is getting restless.
Later, Ave'

Mary Jo, thanks for the link - I'l check it out.

Ave,
congratulations on passing the test and enjoy your "last" weekend off ;) Anja sometimes has similar long weeks :(

Way to go Ave. Cooling our heals in the chat room now waiting for someone to come online. Mike

We had a nice chat this am and are hoping that more can join us for the next one.

Weather here has been a little cool and rainy. That is good news for the music city marathon ran today here in Nashville.

Kathy and Stacey are going to Knoxville tomorrow to pick up some artsy crafty stuff and just spend some time together.

Have to run as I have some more paperwork to fax in and need to check on my bean soup on the stove. A skillet of cornbread and a pitcher of cold sweet tea to top it off. Mike

Just 12 more Western sailing before we sail!!!!!!

Enjoy your weekend Ave!

I was watching "While you were out" last night and it was in Charleston, right here on James Island where we live! Very Cool! Now I'll be looking for the home onwers when I go to the bank/grocery store/Walmart ect!
Trading Spaces was also here, but I have not seen that episode yet, maybe tonight!

Fiona...I agree, get rid of the "Stick Twins"! They are worthless!I think their days are numbered!

Sorry I missed chat again. I was at Girl Scouts with DD. The GS do not meet during the summer, so a few more weeks and I'll be around on Sat mornings.

Fiona:

I dont know if you are a hockey fan, but I am sooo bummed that the Minnesota Wild couldn't finish the game off against the Maple leafs last night. Congrats anyway, it should be a "wild" series!!

Sorry we couldn't make chat this a.m.

I'm looking for someone who taped Survivor episode and is willing to send it to me.

Went to Manhattan yesterday and met hubby for lunch. Then went on a sightseeing spree and shopping at Century 21. Poor Rich, I was late to meet him when he got off of work at 5 p.m.

After lunch, Rich left me at St Peter's Church - the oldest Roman Catholic parish in NYC. From there I went to see what they were doing at the WTC site. Quite a bit different from when I was last there in December. No longer a big pit in the ground.

I then headed down Broadway to Battery Park to revisit Castle Clinton - been years since I was last there and now they sell the tickets to Liberty Island and Ellis Island at this fort. Liberty Island is open but the statue has been closed since 9/11/01. Saw the damaged Koenig Sphere that used to be on display at the Twin Towers courtyard. There was filming going on at Battery Park. Some company called Hostage Film Co. (or maybe it was Ransom Film Co. ?? - something along those lines) but they did not name the movie.

From there I went to little exhibit called NYC Unearthed, stopped by Bowling Green to take a picture of the Bull and then headed up to Wall Street and finally went into Federal Hall. Been in front of building many times where the statue of George Washington is but had never ventured inside. Wandered a little up Nassau Street to look for some bargins (found none) and then cut back across Broadway to spend the rest of my time at Century 21. I was in the dressing room when I realized it was nearly 5 o'clock. Thank goodness for cellphones so I could call Rich and tell him I was going to be a little late. He waited for me by City Hall Park fountain.

We then headed to midtown by subway to check out Grand Central Station. We had not been there for years and we were properly impressed with the color of the "sky" as compared to what we remember it having been years (decades?) ago. We looked for a Tall Girl Shop on 39th Street that I had the address of and found it but it was closed by this time. We then went into Lord and Taylors and I found the perfect dress for my August wedding and to take on the cruise but at 350 bucks I could not buy it. Rich said, however, it looked fantastic on me. Then found ourselves a pizza parlor to eat and put my feet up at (by then my tootsies were killing me}! A quick run through Macy's at Herald Square just to see the garden displays and then back to Penn Station and home.

Great day!

Oh yeah! Rich took me on one of the new subway trains that were clean and they talked to you... just like in Disney! They have a neat little map of the stations you are coming to all lit up and when you arrive at each of those stations, their light goes out! They also have boards and a little voice telling you what station you are arriving at and what station is next. Pretty neat!

Sounds like you had a great time Rosemary.

There were 12,000 + runners in the marathon today. They made me tired just watching them on tv on the 6pm local news.

We recorded survivor Rosemary as we missed it Thursday, but then we erased it after watching it.

Mike

Rosemary-- I'm tired out from reading what all you did in NYC. Sounds like you had a great day. I have not been back to NYC since our trip from h*ll there many years ago. I think my children will never go there. We were on a bus trip and we ended up stuck on the ferry from Statue of Liberty back to the dock and we were 45 minutes late getting back to the bus. Thankfully the bus waited for us. I had a ticked off husband, two crying children, crammed on a ferry boat in 100 degree July heat no where to sit down and unable to even move. It was an absolutely terrible day. So much for trying to have a educational fun filled day. Norm said he will never go back there again.

Ave--- I hope you are enjoying your last free weekend. I hope you are not to exhausted to enjoy your next weekend off.

Survivor fans--- Is Christy the deaf girl? I have just caught bits and pieces of the show. Are the 2 girls you don't like the anorexic looking girls? They looked anorexic at the start and even worse now.

Doug--- My DS#2 is bummed out that Colorado lost to the Wild. He is a big Patrick Roy fan and Patrick didn't look good in that series. There are some interesting teams in the Stanley Cup playoffs this year. Ducks won again today in overtime. Norm stayed up and watched all 5 overtimes the other night.

Fionna-- That sounds like a great deal on the Blue Jay tickets. On one of my trips to Toronto, eat in the Hard Rock and could see the inside of the Sky Dome. No game, but the field crew was working. Toronto is such a great city, I have always enjoyed my trips there. My professional group had their annual conference there 3 years ago and stayed at the Royal York Hotel. Which was a great location and close to everything. Of course, on our son's hockey trips we have been to the Hockey Hall of Fame and Wayne Gretsky's restaurant.

I am going back and forth between this board and cruise critic. I have meet a few people who are on my Pride cruise, so we are setting up a small meet during that cruise. It isn't nearly as large as this group, but seem like a nice group also. For the cruise critic boards we are more chatty then most of the people on that board. We made it to page 4 and that is something for cruise critic.

Rainy today, but tomorrow is suppose to be nice. The grass is out of control in the backyard so Norm needs to get the mower out. Hint, Hint.

I will be glad to participate in a MD/PA/NY meet if I am around. May is becoming pretty full for me already. Just let me know where and when and what works for everyone.

Later,
Nancy

Nancy, Christy is the deaf girl. I think that she will win it all in the windup. Jenna and Heidi should be the next two to go. Wonder if all that silicon gets hot in the amazon.

Ollie is doing fine. He tried to bring in a mouse last night. Rich made him drop it at the door and when it ran away Ollie went looking for it and then Samantha the dog went out to help him look and they bump their heads together looking. Rich said it was funny. Actually, when he told the story it was hysterical and I was rolling on the floor but it lost something in this translation.

I have a pix of Ollie with his conehead and you can see his shaved forearm (foreleg) where the IV's went. I thought of posting it and perhaps still will but I have to upload it to a website first.

His choppers were not wired shut mind you. His lower mandible was wired together because it was broken. (The top was broken too but stable and did not require fixation) And then the Doc had to wire his skin from his jaw up and you could actually see the wire sutures going around his lower canine teeth - like braces. He was pretty pathetic but now we tell him how beautiful Dr. Wen made him with the plastic surgery!

Wow! Tulirich just checked and Yankee season tickets run from $648 in the bleecher section all the way up to $2835 for mainbox! Hope you had fun at the game.

I agree with Twinave. You must have an awful fast car to go to Florida in 11 hours. LOL!

Rich said he agrees with Norm, he would never go back either after a day like that. Then he said, he would like to never go back now. He hates the commute and can't wait until he is able to retire.

Sarahsmom and you and us and Arlene seem to be up for a meet somewhere. One of us needs to take the bull by the horn and decide what, where and when. :D

Mike and Kathy - Don't work too hard. 11 hours in the little VW can't be good for the back!

Do any of you guys notice how Eric is always talking about his wonderful weather and riding with the top down on the car? And I thought Dan was gloating about his WDW vacation?? Just teasing guys. Love ya both! :teeth:

Congrats on passing training Ave. With a pace like you are going to be keeping, you will be ready for Cruisetoberfest II by June or July!

Mary - Was the While You Were Out person happy with what they did while he/she was away??

That's it for me tonight. Have a great day everyone. Going to a special Jazzercise class in another town where my friend attends because they are having a Jazzercise fund raiser for the troops over in the Mideast. Gotta get up early to make it there before nine since it is not close to me.

Rosemary,
we will keep our good weather over here until 09/20/03, but intend to bring it with us to Florida :p
It's good to hear that your kitty is well again.

Talking about getting the survivor-episode you missed: Try KAZAA, Grokster or a similar P2P-system. Just recently I missed an episode of Dark Angel and was able to find it there. But you should have a fast connection or you'll need eons to retriev the file.

Sorry we couldn't make chat this a.m.

I'm looking for someone who taped Survivor episode and is willing to send it to me.

i have survivor taped it is on with some other stuff but i can send it and have it ready to watch if you like

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, so why am I at the computer. Just taking a little break. Norm is out mowing the grass. I have been working both inside and outside. You know how us women can do multiple tasks at the same time. Need to decide which little project to go to next. Finally could wear shorts and t-shirt and not freeze while working outside.

I think Eric is just warm blooded. It would have to be really hot for me to ride in a car with the top down. I am cold blooded so even in the summer, Norm has it so cold in the house I have a sweater on. Same with the car, I put socks on my feet as he has the air blowing down on them my little toes get frost bite.

Oh well, break over back to work.

Nancy
