Hi everyone,
First, I have to ask if anyone besides me buys travel insurance? I bought it my first cruise because it was hurricane season (like now) and it ended up saving my butt! My legs swelled huge on the plane a week before the cruise and never went down. After we got on board, I went down to the Dr's office and had her look at them, long story short, I ended up piling up $5k worth of bills for some fancy tests and the insurance paid every cent. I have used Travel Guard International every time and have loved their service. You can buy it up to the day before you board, and if, heaven forbid, a storm hits, you are covered as long as it's not named before you buy it. If anyone is interested, pm me and I'll give you their number.

On a more exciting note, We are having a blast with Ben home and he's getting more able to speak English instead of Portugese all the time. He is starting to ask more questions about the cruise too, so he's adjusting quickly to 'real' life. He and Eric are fixing my car tomorrow, so he will have a chance to get oil under his fingernails for the first time in 2 years. I guess it's a guy thing to like that Renae

Rosemary, the Mickey logo was Stacey's original drawing. She loves anything Mickey and has wanted to work with Disney since she was just a little girl. Anyway the Mickey in the lederhosen (sp) is Stacey's idea, not Mike's or mine.

Just think, I only have to work the next 4 nights (12 hour shifts) and finish this one then this time next week we will be in the Raddison sleeping and dreaming of the Magic. This is the only thing keeping me going at this rate. I am so tired and I really need this break. All of my patients' parents are wishing Mike and me a safe trip too. They are all so sweet. I really will miss them and I have to get something for a few of them.

Speaking of the cold, it was 38 degrees here this morning (Friday) I had to put the window down in the living room and the bathroom to take a bath this morning. Mike and I love the cold for sleeping but it was a little too chilly for bathing.

Take care everyone, Mike and I are leaving out at 4 a.m. Thursday morning and heading for Florida. Drive carefully everyone. Maybe Mike and I can put something up in the car window so that other Dis'ers can wave. See you all next Saturday! Kathy

Good Morning Everyone!

I want to thank you for your thoughts and prayers for Jessica and Dan and to share a little good news. The initial biopsy they did of the mass on his pancreas has come back benign! He was told that, for reasons we don't understand, the results would only be 60% accurate and that they won't know definately until the results come back after the surgery. But, that's okay! It's still good news! Please, keep saying those prayers, I know they work.

I cant believe that the cruise is just one week from today! We have been planning this since last summer and booked it in January. Oh my, I guess I better start thinking about next year's trip!!

I had to watch my new grandson, Andrew, last night for a couple of hours. He is such a beautiful baby! He's also very good, he has a very lucky Moomy and Daddy.

Well, here I am at work again on Saturday, been on six days a week for about two months now, it's getting old! Luckily I am only working 8 hrs today instead of the normal 12.

In less than a week, we will be meeting everyone we already know.

I think my mother is amazed at the fact that we have been chatting with unknown people for a year. She is really excited about this cruise.

Our dd is going to keep our dog in their new house, that will save on kennel fees.(more money for the cruise)

I better get going, people won't work if they don't see me!

Was up early again today. Hoping to get a lot done today. Last night we went to M & M's (it's a place where you can get lots of frozen entrees) and bought some stuff to leave behind. Had to explain to DS that the 2lb lasagna was dinner not a snack! We then went to Costco and got a bunch of stuff to leave behind and to take. We will do a little more shopping probably Tuesday night or Wednesday just before we leave. We take food with us when we drive and then we don't have to stop to eat. We have a car fridge which is great.

Today am hoping to buy film, pick up my dress at the dry cleaners, put away the patio furniture, clean up the house a little more, do laundry, renew my prescriptions, mow the lawn and start to pack. I will be bringing all my prescriptions in the same containers they come in although I've never had a problem. I'm hoping to be basically ready before the end of the weekend.

Work is going to be busy next week as a couple of new deals landed on my desk Friday at 4pm. I think I should have started my vacation on Friday rather than Wednesday! My secretary looked at her desk and said that she'd have plenty to do while I was away. I didn't want to have to work late Monday or Tuesday but it appears that one day I'm going to have to stay. Luckily I have been staying late and getting everything else caught up in case this happened (it always seems too).

Car is fine and ready to go almost. It still has to be vaccuumed out and the inside of the windows washed. The junk has been mostly removed though!

Well must get going on this busy day. Can't believe it's only a week away now since we booked this May 2002.

Good morning everyone!!

Well, this time next week most of us (at least the early risers) will be getting up and getting ready to head to the port. This is getting so exciting.

Don - I know what you mean about people thinking it's crazy that we've been talking to all of these online friends for a year getting ready for this cruise. But now, we "old" friends and this cruise will be just a reunion.

Well, I'm keeping very busy today, and none of it's cruise stuff. That'll have to wait for tomorrow. I am co-hosting a bridal shower today for a friend and then after that we are having cake/ice cream at my MILs for Emily's 2nd birthday. I also need to pick up flowers for the alter at church for tomorrow (in celebration of Emily's birthday).

Then tomorrow, we'll be having cake again, this time at church for Emily's birthday. Then in the afternoon, Chris is going to finish picking up his tux and I'm going to work on as much packing as I can.

Well, better go finish getting the food ready for this shower this afternoon.

Sounds like today is going to be busy for everyone!

I also will be vacuuming and cleaning out all my junk which has accumulated in my van. Mike checked it out last weekend, changed the oil, topped off the fluids, etc. Maybe I'll have him check my tires again just in case. Don't want any nails or anything stuck in there.

Then we will finish off packing. I think I have everything together but just need to go through my list and make sure I didn't forget anything.

And then hopefully I will get a chance to clean house some more.

I am ROTFL.....DH tried on his khaki pants.....he swears he hasn't gained weight since college (graduated in 90). Guess what? They are too tight. My mom may be letting out the buttons for him. I told him that I was not going to be running around looking for clothes for him at the last minute.

Anyway, I have to make a trip to the mall today (huntsville, AL). My oldest dd has grown out of everything. She looked like an orphan going to school this week.

Next week at this time.......we will be eating breakfast and getting ready to head to the port.

welll it is a bit chilly time to put on a sweat shirt and mow the lawn .....

And rake up the Truck load of PINE NEEDLES that have blanketed the side yard.... the wind comes off the lake and
even though the R NOT MY TREES we still have the pleasure of the clean up of them as the Neighbors yard remains Spotless........ and also the gutters r loaded with them

sorry I missed the chat last night, but I was so tired after such a long week, I couldn't make it. I just crashed. Lenny even put Haley to bed. Boy, I really can't wait for our trip. I really need it! Boy, it would be nice if we all got upgraded if our rooms weren't ready.

Mike decided to check my spare tire, and he can't get the tire down. Over the summer I had a flat and had to get a new tire. Well, apparently when Autotire tried putting the spare back in they broke something on it and told me they couldn't put it in and would have to order a part to fix it. Then about 20 minutes later the guy said he fixed it and I could leave. Well now apparently he didn't fix it so Mike just took my van up to Autotire. We've got to be able to have access to our spare. Worst part was, Mike told me he wanted me to take it on Monday, with all the kids, yeah right, and was upset because I told him that he should take it now!

Good afternoon everyone.
I "slept in" today...did not get up until 11am!!!It was an tough week, without much sleep. I guess I was making up for it. Plus, DH took DS to sell Boy Scout pop corn. DD's knee is better but she is playing it to the hilt.

I have to shoe shop today for DD shoes, and get the car washed and vacuumed.

I saw the thread about some rooms not being ready, but have not heard anything about it from anyone on our cruise. Has DCL contacted anyone?

Peter...have you heard back from DU yet?

Lisa...better to find out about the tire now, then on the road!

Sorry to hear you and George will not be sailing with us this year.
But I can certainly understand the circumstances. Best of Luck with all your changes.

Seems like we will miss sailing with you in 2004 too, but your three peat to different sets of ports sounds really exciting. Will you be able to wait that long until you next cruises? Or are you planning another cruise as things settle down for you?

Yes, it looks like everyone is busy.

I know that I am. I'm getting my "spruce up" done today. I deep cleaned my face, shaved my legs, deep conditioned my hair and I'm off to get my nails and toes done here in about 1/2 hour. A day of pampering is the next best thing to vacation!

DS, Tony, is still putting off packing. He has friends over from last night and I told him he MUST get rid of them soon so we can get started. We have a dinner date with some friends of ours this evening (where I can show off all the pretty I'm paying dearly for!) and then tomorrow is it. We must be packed and ready. DS #2 has a soccer game in the afternoon and I'll be doing any last-minute soccer paperwork before I leave.

Anyhow, I'm going to go dry my hair and get out of here. I'll post again this afternoon, likely.
