I used to be under the impression that the castle was just for girls and we didn't eat there last July with our 2 boys, even though I really wanted to eat there. But the trip was all about our sons, so we didn't. I definitely think I was wrong. We did eat dinner at 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian, with Cinderella, Prince Charming and the stepmother and stepsisters. I had read reports here that the humor at this dinner was really great and that boys would love it. We enjoyed the dinner, even though my older son (who was 3 and a half at the time) got embarrassed when Drizella kissed him and left a red lipstick mark on his cheek! He still enjoyed the characters after that but he was very shy when they spoke to him. But he talks about it all the time and says he loved it. In addition, he also told me that he was very sad that we did not get to eat in the castle at Magic Kingdom.
So, we are going to eat in the castle on our next trip, which is next July. My boys will be 3 and 5 on that trip. I don't know if we will do breakfast, lunch or dinner, but we will definitely go. My sister is joining us on the first 4 nights of our 10-night trip with her daughters, as are my parents, and I know they want to eat in the castle. I don't care which meal we do there, as long as we get to go! And my son keeps asking me when he will get to go back to WDW and I tell him next summer after he turns 5 and his brother turns 3. He keeps asking if we could eat in the castle this time! DH is also okay with it, even though it is not so important to him and if I told him we are not going to eat in the castle he would be fine with that too.
Anyway, I do think the castle is also wonderful for boys. I am sorry we did not eat there on last year's trip but now I know and we can do it next year!
