Okay, Don't want to be a total party pooper but we just got back from D in August. We had lunch at CRT. I'm starting to think they are spreading the princesses too thin. They need to be at too may places and so some of the princesses are not very, uhh, umm, "princessy?" :earseek: Even my daughter who is only 9 said "mommy, they don't look very good, not like real princesses." princess: They were heavily made up, with very fake looking wigs on. The last time we were there they were beautiful girls, very natural looking in their costumes. Kind of dissapointing.

We were looking at some picture from our 10/04 trip and my dd (7) noticed that Cinderella's dress had a large tear that had been repaired and said "you can tell that is a wig, look at her bangs". I hadn't really noticed until she mentioned it.

Last September they were all nice looking and very sweet!

We go again this month and I hope what you experienced was just a fluke!

Are they running in from Cinderellbration to do the CRT meals? That doesn't sound like a good idea, but it might explain why they have on tons of make-up. Out on the stage they would have to wear heavier "faces" to keep from looking washed out, but inside it would look harsh.

I am also not a fan of wigs, but I guess in the interest of keeping all the princesses as consistent as possible maybe the wigs are mandatory?

We have a CRT lunch in October. We'll have to post a report when we get home!

It's not that I expect perfection, but they really were sort of odd looking this time. The last time we were there they were wonderful. I hope it was a fluke too!!!

On one of the tours I took, we went through costuming at MK. We were told all face characters wear wigs (even the males). The reasoning is sound. Think about what humidity does to "real" hair. Too, it's one way to make sure the character's hair always looks the same.

We have lunch crt adr in a few weeks. How was the character interaction and food? DD9 prefers mickey/minnie over the princesses but I wanted to give her the crt experience because she warmed up to the princesses last year at MK/MGM autograph signing. We do have character meals planned with minnie/mickey, as well as crt dinner.

We were just at CRT a couple of weeks ago for lunch and we thought the princesses were lovely and realistic. Jasmine's hair was definitely a wig, just because of the way it has to be, but the kids never mentioned it and believe me if the princesses weren't "princess-y" my gifted DS11 would have made a comment. Boy did he blush in his picture with Jasmine, I think it's the bare midriff of the costume. Heck I'm surprised they're not messier after taking pictures with small children who are eating. I wouldn't be shocked to see Cinderella with a chocolate handprint on her heiny. princess:

We have always had really great princesses. Only one time did we think Aurora looked "strange". She looked more like Barbie than Aurora. Another time we had Snow White who talked and looked so much like the real thing that I was beginning to "believe".

The current Snow White is AMAZING, at least the one I've seen on my last two trips.

She *IS* Snow White.

I have to admit DH made the same comment. He thought the princesses in 2003 and 2004 looked much more "princessy" than the ones this year. Especially Ariel at PSB.

Hehe on a similar topic, am I the only one who gets disgusted by the amount of goop in Prince Charming's hair? Looks like his head is covered in shoe polish... ;)

I still wouldn't kick him out of...er, never mind.

HEre is the Snow White from Aug. 2, 2005 - she WAS the REAL Snow White! :rotfl:

And Cinderella was quite pretty, too.

But Mary Poppins, well, I'll let you decide......

AS for the idea of the Princesses rushing into to CRT between Cinderellabration shows, I doubt that's the case. The "performers" are different than the "face characters." The performers are part of the actor's union and the pay is a bit more substantial than the face characters. Now face characters make more $ per hour than the "regular" costumed characters - I think they get $1.00 more per hour. I have auditioned for Disney several times (many years ago) and this is what I remember from the literature they gave out at auditions.

I was so happy to see you wrote that. 'your' Snow White is a very dear friend and has so much self doubt. It's nice to see that someone thinks she is as wonderful as I do. I hope you don't mind but I printed out your picture and the quote to give to her as a magical moment. I really think it will make her day. :goodvibes

as for the comments others have made about the pricesses- please be careful what you post because you never know who may read it and some 'friends' of the pricesses may visit these boards. I wouldn't want anyone's feelings to get hurt. You can say what you want but when posting some pics or dates, please keep this in mind. thank you! :)

I have to agree that this year when we went to CRT that some of the princesses did not look as good as the princesses from the years before. The people in the above pictures were not the people we saw. We have been to CRT several times and some characters are better "fits" than others.

I was going to start a thread with this exact observation but I forgot! lol

The princesses when we went to CRT in June were...a bit...ummm..too made up and didn't look natural at all. Not kidding. The pictures look so weird. Even my toddler was a bit taken aback by them. lol

Last time, I remember Cinderella looking...well, like Cinderella. And Snow White last time, goodness, my then 7y/o practically fell in love. :flower:

But this time, we all couldn't wait to eat and get outta there! Maybe that's the plan? Get in as many people and scare them out quickly?! :rotfl2:

I know this is getting long, but we had you're Snow White too. She made my DS feel so special...he was dressed as a Prince and she just fussed over him! We had a great time...let's remember...these are delightful characters. Not real. Remember?

I know this is silly, but... Wow! Snow's lipstick looks great! :smooth:
