We will be having dinner at CRT this trip. It will be my first time eating there in 20 years. Are there princesses at dinner? My boys (6 and 8) are not thrilled with the princess idea - anyone have any tips for making this expeience more boyish for them?

Maybe offer them an 'indulge Mom' compromise - say, ride any ride WITH THEM that they want (even the Teacups that make you sick, or ToT) or they get to pick a meal (TRex, Rainforest Cafe). I've heard that the Princesses give special attention to tables of boys only.

And remind them that in a few years, they will love having beautiful princesses fawning over them :)

We had lunch at CRT...I have 2 boys and 1 girl. They weren't thrilled either, however...when we arrived, they gave the boys swords and told them that they had to defend the princesses in the castle. They thought that was too cool. DH and I really played up the sword thing. We made a big deal, too, about eating in a castle...explained that castles are where kings and queens eat, etc. They actually had a blast and asked to go back. Ya never know:confused3

That is cool. Was that recently? My younger son would be thrilled with a sword. I was actually thinking of buying one in the park so he could bring it in. I know that would keep him happy.

That was 8 months ago...both of our sons wanted pictures with each Princess. Needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised. I can't remember if they gave us the swords when we checked in or when we were actually upstairs. My daughter was handed a "magic princess wand". If you go to allears.net and look up CRT, it should give you the same info...I believe that's where I found out about the swords.

thing for boys has been standard fro awhile. (Girls get wands.) They change often. We have three different ones.

My son isn't really into the princesses either. We all admit it's something for our daughter. The last couple of trips, he and I have headed to DAK in the morning to catch some rides he wants to do. We head back just in time for our lunch.

We went to the dinner last year (May )and Cinderella was at the entrance for a photo but not at the dinner. The fairy godmother did a little show in the middle of the restaurant, while the mice went table to table for a very quick photo opp.

As of last week, the princesses were at supper time. Cinderella is in the lobby, and at the meal we had Snow White, Belle, Aurora and Ariel.

There were lots of tables with families with boys among their children, and all seemed to be enjoying it, none looked totally upset. The swords wereprobably helpful in that ;)

Thanks everyone. Ths boys will go for mommy, but the swords will definately make it more fun for them

It changed last year. No more FGM and mice at dinner - Princesses are at all three meals. Cinderella is still downstairs for the photo, and the others circulate through the dining room.
