Just wondering if CRT breakfast is really worth 2 TS when Princess Storybook breakfast in Norway is only 1 TS. I have a 4 year old who just wants to see the princesses. I don't think it matters to her where she sees them. Is there a difference in the food? Also, I believe the photo package also comes with the Norway Princess breakfast. Is that true? Any other differences? Thanks! princess:princess:princess:

I would say Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus. My girls are the same as your DD. They want to see the princesses, and they don't really care or know the difference between the 2 TS castle experience and the 1TS Akershus experience. We found the atmosphere and character interaction at Akershus to be awesome. The food at breakfast was typical breakfast stuff, but very good and plentiful. I believe the photo package is included.

We've done the Storybook Princess breakfast for the same reasons -- 1 credit and our DD loves to see lots of princesses!

As far as the photo package, I don't know, but would love to hear, since we paid for ours last time.

I think there is much to be said for dining IN the castle and I also believe there are more princesses at CRT now, but we're going to hold off and do this on another trip.

Have fun!

You get a photo with both. Cinderella with CRT and Belle (I believe) with Akershus. I would go with Akershus and save the meal credit. My kids loved both but you get to see several princesses at Akershus as well. Only cool thing about CRT is eating in the castle. Definitely there's nostalgia with that, but I'd still lean towards Akershus. Food is good at both.

We have eaten in the castle once and Akershus twice. We like Akershus because the character interaction is very good there and the food was excellent. However when we return next Sept. we decided that we wanted to go back to the castle because there is nothing like eating in Cindy's Castle. Plus my youngest DD was only 2 the last time we ate there and she doesn't remember it. She has since said that it would be so cool to eat in there.

The princesses at Akershaus are awesome!!! We started eating there on a whim (because we wanted our kids to have at least one character meal) in 2006 and we have fallen in love with the place (doesn't hurt that my husband is Nordic!). The food is good (LOVE the potatoes), our servers have always been warm and attentive, and the princesses really take time with the kids. I would say if your DD doesn't have her heart set on a particular princess to go with this meal.

Best wishes!

My girls prefer Akershus hands down. I don't think that CRT is worth the extra points and we found the Princesses to be much more friendly at Akershus. Have a great trip!

Actually we did both our Sept trip and we preferred CRT. The picture is great (my dd looked so happy) and I just felt like the atmosphere and interaction were better. Despite what you sometimes read on here we just enjoyed our meal more (food etc) at CRT. When I asked my DH places he wanted to go back to CRT was at the top of his list (even though it is 2 credits) my problem is I fear it will be booked up and we may have to settle for Askerhaus.

I can't speak about CRT, but my husband LOVED Akershus. I sent him there for breakfast with dd, and he said the food and princesses were both fabulous. I had a CRT breakfast scheduled for just me and dd the following week, but since they got all the big princesses at Akershus - Belle, Aurura, Ariel, Snow White, and Cinderella, wow! - I canceled CRT. I asked dd and she said she'd rather sleep in than eat at the castle. I had a hard time canceling because the lady thought I was nuts and kept asking if I was sure. :rotfl:

I'd say that if you've never eaten in the castle, it's a must do. Having breakfast (or lunch!) then walking out into Fantasyland is priceless. The stained glass windows are gorgeous and the entire atmosphere is very castle-like. Parts of Akershus feel castle like, others do not.

You can have great or rushed character interactions at any character meal on any given day, so there's really no way to tell how yours will be in advance. If you want good character interaction, have your little one come in costume and prepared to ask some questions. If you engage them, they will engage back. Ask Snow White if she finally gave up eating apples. Ask Cinderella if she's finally done cleaning floors. You get the idea....

You get the same number of princesses at either meal. CRT always has Cindy in the lobby then 4 others upstairs. We always see Belle (in blue), Aurora, Snow White and Jasmine, but I understand this does change sometimes.

At Akershus, you USUALLY get Belle in her yellow. But this is NOT a guarantee. You then get 4 others inside, but this tends to change a lot more here. At lunch in December we saw Cinderella, Alice, Jasmine and Ariel (in her green gown).

The photo package is included in BOTH.

I LOVE both. You can't go wrong with either. But the castle has to be done at least once!

I've done both, more recently Akershus. I vote for the Princess Storybook Breakfast hands down! The food was good and the princess interaction was wonderful. Its on our must do list for 2011! We liked CRT ok but won't be doing it again. Definitely don't think its worth 2TS.

For the price or TS credit I would do princess storybook, but eating at the castle is also great, when we went to Disney last December my daughter was 4, we went to both places, I asked her which character resturants she wanted to go to on our trip this year and she wants to go back to the castle.

DD and I have been to CRT twice, but never to Akershus. I described Akershus to her briefly and asked if she would want to go there instead of the castle. I was sure she'd say no, let's do the castle again. But she surprised me and said she'd like to try Akershus. Then I realized that I think I'll be really disappointed if we don't eat in the castle. So we may be doing both.

I don't think the photo is included at both. It definitely is at CRT but at Akershus we had to pay extra for it, just like the one at Chef Mickeys. It cost us $30 something dollars extra. They brought it to our table about halfway through the meal to see if we wanted to buy it.

When we were in DW December 08 it was included at Akershus, we got a photo package and did not pay extra for it, I hope that has not changed as we are hoping to go back this December, it was one of my husbands favorite meals as well as our children loved seeing the princesses

Not sure when you were last there, but that has changed. The photo package now IS part of the deal at Akershus. They will bring it around mid-meal and give it to you, no charge. Just like at CRT.

Gee thats great that they are including it now. Is this the same at Chef Mickeys or do you still have to pay there?

I would recommend CRT. We have done Akershus twice in the past (both times when we couldn't get ADR's for CRT) and finally CRT last year. While there was nothing wrong with Akershus when I asked DD where she wanted to go on this trip she said CRT. In fact we are going for lunch on her birthday and the dinner with the Fairy Godmother for mine :goodvibes. I think it is definitely worth the extra dining credit to eat in the castle with "royalty".

I am having the same debate.

I have time to decide yet, we are not going until March. I am so split between them. Maybe we will do both if I can get the ADR's. Hmmmm...
