Greetings Dining Guru's,

I would like to know if anyone can tell me how much trouble an ADR at CRT would be on January 9th while the Marathon is going on. I had a pre-park opening ADR booked, but I changed it to later because I think the park will be packed with people cheering on their runners, and I was also worried about how hard it would be to even GET to the park that morning. \

Does anyone have any experience with this? Should I change it back while I still have a chance, or keep the later ADR and just plan on getting to the park by rope drop and doing some rides before checking in?

Where are you staying? I'm going for marathon weekend for the first time this year, but I've been warned that those who are not running will have a lot of trouble getting to MK in the morning. Buses will have large detours (and occasional stops). Also, from what I was told, buses go to the TTC (rather than right to MK), which means taking the ferry or monorail (which will be full of spectators in the morning).

MK is at about mile 10 of the marathon, so given the time limit of 6hr30min for the race, I'd assume that most of the runners would be through within about 3hrs or about 9am (giving some time for the pack of the back to get across the start line).

We'll be at POR, although I am considering what to do for the night prior to the marathon. Since DH will be up at o'dark hundred to catch a but to the starting line, the kids and I may vacate for more tranquil surroundings for that one night. ;)

My math was saying what you mentioned - that getting into that park for an 8:10am ADR won't be easy and will be very time-consuming. I think I'll stick with the current plan which is to do a little park touring and then break for a late breakfast. That way, if we're running really late, we can just do the breakfast and follow it up with a little park time. :thumbsup2
