I am taking my DD (she'll be 9 at the time) to DW for her first trip 10/27-10/31. I booked a lunch at CRT for Friday 10/28 @ 2:40 pm. Just wondering if that's a good time, since it's the last lunch seating, so hoping we won't be rushed as much and also wondering how the food is? Thank you for any help you can provide. :)

I don't think you'll be rushed at all. The food is fine, but I tend to think there's a bit of disappointment because of the price tag associated with eating at the castle. I believe you're paying for the experience, not for fantastic food. I think the food is good, but I think as far as food goes there are better TS restaurants in WDW. But for my DD, I think it's definitely worth it! We had lunch there last May. And we're having breakfast there 10/20!

I think that is a wonderful time, I am actually booked for CRT at 2:40 as well. You will not be rushed at the last seating, actually it will be the opposite :) During my last trip we had breakfast and it seemed like a quick experience. I have asked this question on another board and have received positive feedback about the last lunch seating and I heard the lunch menu is very good. Many rate lunch #1, then breakfast and then dinner. Many have mixed reviews about dinner from my findings.

:goodvibes

Our group of six enjoyed the lunch menu in September. Everything we had was great. Granddaughter is very picky and when we saw a child near us with just the noodles and butter (without any sauce) we requested that for her. She loved it!

Loved lunch. We've done breakfast and lunch and hands down we enjoyed lunch more. It was a little more expensive but the food quality was better IMO. Plus if I'm going to spend $50 on eggs I'd rather spend $60 on salmon! ;)

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. :goodvibes I'm more excited for my DD to have the princess experience but it would be nice to have a decent meal, as well. Sounds like it should be just fine.

I thought about breakfast but didn't want to waste morning park time (when the crowds are lower) eating at a restaurant. I also considered dinner but thought we'd be too pooped out by then since I'm hoping to get to MK early and leave shortly after our late lunch as we don't plan on doing MNSSHP on that day.

Thank you all again for your input. :)

We loved our lunch a few years ago when we went and we're going back for lunch this next trip!

We used to love lunch at CRT. Not anymore. We were the last seating and were totally rushed. The hostess told my handicapped parents to "hurry up and sit down". They rushed the food out, ran the princesses around like it was a marathon (my niece could not have had 30 seconds tops with most of the princesses) and rushed us out.

The food offerings have been pared down to where Major Domo's pie is the only decent choice. There are no dinner rolls, the "appetizer plate" is a joke.

Basically, a really fun and wonderful lunch has now been turned into an amusement ride where they line everyone up, snap a photo, seat them, bring out the food, run the princesses round the room, push everyone out the door and repeat for the next group.

We will not go back -- and this comes from someone who used to consider lunch at CRT a must do.
