I understand that they check the name on the dining reservation with the name on the credit card when checking in at CRT. But what about the name on the room reservation?
We're staying DVC and I added one night to the beginning, checking in one day earlier. On the 2nd room, the resv starts on our desired check in day. So the 1st room, while one stay, has 2 different resv #'s. Today is our 90 day mark for check in, however, last night when I was practicing, it only showed us staying for 1 night in that 1st room, and so I didn't think it would give us the +10 out to the day she needed. My daughter, who will be staying in my room, was planning on booking CRT this morning, so I told her she should use the resv # on the 2nd room (her brother's room) when booking, because it has the full 5 nights on it. She was able to book CRT this morning using her brother's room #, but putting the CRT resv under her name & ph#. However, the dining system said it was charging her CC. (We are paying for the DDP - on both rooms.)
She called Disney Dining when they opened, and explained the problem to the CM. The CM told my daughter she couldn't book it on the resv# for our room because it was only for 1 night. (Even though we're staying 5 nights.)
The CM told her that the DDP probably wasn't recognized in the system because the room she used to book online was under a name different than hers. The CM told her that when she checks in at CRT, they will check the resv name & cc to make sure they match. Will CRT also have the name the room was under when the resv was booked?
Our daughter is pretty upset. This CRT resv was very important for her. She will have to get a credit on her CC when CRT bills it to the DDP. This is for 2 adults & 2 children. Not cheap! That's a lot of money to have billed to the cc & have to wait over 3 mos to get credited. But what she is most upset about is the worry that when she shows up at CRT they will have her brother's name (from the room resv) and not let her in. Or will computer cancel this out because her name & ph# doesn't match the room resv ???
I'll call Member Services later and see if I can get this straightened out. But if there aren't any CRT openings left for the day & time she wants, then my daughter doesn't want to cancel her current ADR, and just wait for the credit to be done 3 mos from now.
Has anyone had experience with a problem like this? Will the computer cancel her ADR because the name on the room doesn't match the name on the ADR? Will she not be allowed in to CRT because her name is different than the name on the room resv?
Please help us set our mind at ease. If there will be a problem, we would like to know.
