I was looking at the menu for CRT for lunch and the menu looks terrible for my picky family. Has anyone eaten there for lunch? What do you think and what did you eat? How were the "extras included" and what were they? Thanks in advance for your advice!!:worship:

We ate at CRT for lunch last June and loved it! The character interaction was great. We saw Cinderella downstairs, then Jasmine, Snow White, Belle and Fairy Godmother in the dining room coming around to the tables.
DD received a wand and DS got a sword, and they both received a wishing star from a "wishing ceremony". As for the food, we were VERY pleased. They actually allowed my children to substitute a couple of things (neither eat salad, so they got grapes instead). They both had the "pretzel dogs"--basically mini hot dogs. DS had chicken noodle soup and grapes with his, DD had carrot sticks and grapes. both had a sundae for dessert.

DH and I had: "Major Domo's Favorite Pie - shredded beef simmered in rich cabernet sauce, served with mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables, crowning a light pastry" -- which was DH's favorite meal of the entire trip!

Dessert was chocolate buckle with chocolate ice cream--decadent and delicious! We had a great time, and the ambience of dining in "The Castle" is worth it! They've all requested that we eat there again next trip!

respond to "the menu looks terrible for my picky family"?

We've been two summers in a row. The last time was a little before the lunch menu posted on this site. There were the same five entrees both times; a salmon dish, pork tenderloin, Major Domo's Pie, Pasta Pomadora and a turkey and ham(?) sandwich on focaccia. Major Domo's Pie is similar to a high end pot pie. The beef is prepared in a cabernet sauce and the topping is puff pastry.

Both times the appetizer was mortadella with cheese, a blt salad, and chicken with pesto sauce. My wife and I have had the salmon, pork tenderloin and Major Domo's Pie as entrees. We liked all three. I'm not sure which I'll choose next time. Dessert was a blueberry buckle (similar to a crumble or cobbler) one year and a chocolate one the next. Both were served with vanilla ice cream.

I'm not sure what you mean by extras. Young ladies, and some not so young, receive a wand. Young men receive a sword. All those young at heart receive a wishing star. All three changed between the two visits. On the first visit the star twinkled, which fit with the Wishing Ceremony. I was disappointed they changed stars the next year.

Additionally, there is a photo package included in the package. You receive one 6x8 and four 4x6 pictures and a picture of the castle. The picture is chosen by Cinderella's staff. There are several pictures taken which can be added to your photopass account.

Hope this helps.

We just ate there last week and as far as the food goes, it was just a little above average. What you are really paying for is the experience, not the food. I had the pork tenderloin and my husband had the Domo Pie. Now I will say the chocolate buckle was delicious!!!

Our daughter had a hotdog and ff and I think our son had the chicken nuggets. At a lot of the restaurants, chicken noodle soup is an appetizer on the kids menu. Both of my kids HATED it. I had WAY TOO MANY ONIONS init for most kids.

We were wonderfing the same thing - lunch.
Our DD can not eat wheat.
At dinner there is prime rib, which she could eat.
Lucnh there does not seem to be a non-wheat item she likes.
Breakfast seems to be mostly breads (wheat items).

So would dinner be better for us ?

Thank you, it was just what I was looking for and that Domo pie, looked yummy. It did not mention that on the list of food served. Picture was great to see. The wand and the star are a nice touch. We were a little dissapointed for dinner in the past. We did get the wand also at dinner but the food was fair. I am glad they were accomodating also due to the fact my DD has a milk allergy. By the way who or what is Major Domo? :confused3

For those who have allergies, if you'll contact them ahead of time, then remind them when you arrive, they will usually have the chef come speak with you before ordering to let you know what your choices are. (Never done it myself, but have read here on the boards from many who have.)

As for Major Domo, here's what I found!

"A majordomo is the highest (major) person of a household (domo) staff, one who acts on behalf of the (often absent) owner of a typically large residence."

We couldn't get into breakfast so we took lunch and loved it!
I had the Majordomo-very light dough on top and bottom with mashed potatoes-very good not spicy, DH had sandwhich which was fine -just ok- but the sweet potatoe chips were awesome. Kids both had grilled chicken with baked pasta with string beans and fruit. They were too excited to eat much but one liked the chicken and the other the pasta.
I didn't have the buckle which looked like a glorified muffin to me I had the kids sundae because it was small and came with a chocolate crown.
Go-enjoy-it is the castle and should be done at least once. Lots of princesses- we had a late, late lunch ADR (2:45pm) and I was really worried the princesses would be outta there getting ready for dinner. But not the case they were not rushed and it was not crowded. They served the late lunch on the little area surrounding and above the main area (you could see everything not to worry) as they cleared out that main area for dinner. In fact as we were finishing they had already begun taking orders for dinner.
Don't forget-no princesses at dinner only Cindy downstairs for pics and Fairy Godmother with mice are upstairs in the restaurant.
At breakfast and lunch Cindy is downstairs taking pics (she still never comes upstairs) and ther rest of the princeses make their way around the restaurant. We saw Mary Poppins, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty and Belle.

Thank you everyone! I think we will keep our reservations. Also, thanks for the info about the Major Domo.
