We will be in WDW NOV 2011. We will definitely be going to CRT, but wondering which is BEST - Breakfast, lunch or dinner? kids are DD5 and DS7

CRT – I would do Breakfast and schedule it earlier. My only reasoning behind this is because you get the park to yourself in the morning and it is great. You can’t experience anything else like Main Street with no people

We did CRT for breakfast but we scheduled it for after a trip to the boutique for our dd's 5th b'day. Worked out wonderfully!

breakfast, that way for the rest of the day you can remember it. Also I really loved the food :)

I would go for breakfast as well, going for the first reservation time as a PP suggested works well and is a good idea. However going at a later time and getting there for RD, touring in the morning and then eating breakfast at say 10:30 can work out too. You will be ready for a break by that time.

We really enjoyed the breakfast. We also did it before the park opened. I've never been for L or D so I can't really compare.

I'll be the lone dissenter.

I understand the desire for the early entry and the mostly empty park. Our problem is that no one in our family is ready to eat a large meal at that time. We usually get croissants or beignets (we stay at POFQ) to eat while waiting for rope drop.

Until last year the princesses were not meeting guests at dinner so that wasn't available. That left us with lunch.

Lunch still works for us for a couple of reasons;

Our daughter did BBB last trip and loved. Lunch allows us to have some time for rides before her appointment and enjoy some time made up before eating. We usually head back to the resort for a swim and nap after the meal.

We seriously considered dinner this trip for a change of pace. For the first time in years the entrees have changed for lunch and dinner. None of the dinner items were enticing enough to justify the increased cost for dinner and the Major Domo's Favorite Pie, the favorite of my wife and I, is still available at lunch.

So it's back for lunch this trip - probably the last for a number of years.

We have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner at CRT. Our family of 11 is traveling together to WDW in Dec and CRT is a must~ however, it was voted to try to get a reservation for breakfast instead of lunch. The teenager in the group absolutely did not like the lunch food (she does appreciate good food! LOL). I thought lunch was ok~ but I think we all agree that breakfast is better. And yes, if possible, try to get the reservation an hour before park opening. You get in MK while it is virtually empty, and it times it to where you are finished just before rope drop~ and you are one of the first to enter Fantasyland. too cool!

We have done breakfast twice and did dinner last September as a change of pace. Funny that you asked this question- just last night I asked my two girls, DD9 and DD5 which they would prefer- they both said dinner. My wife agrees.

While it is REALLY cool to walk down Main Street with almost no one around, there was something enchanting about the dinner meal and the sun setting and then getting dark outside the castle windows. For my wife, after our breakfasts she said how nice it was, but after dinner last year she had stars in her eyes. For the food, I probably slightly prefer the dinner menu, but both are fine. It was more about the lighting and atmosphere at night that made it more special.

BTW, we were on DDP so cost did not matter to us.

Take comfort, no matter when you go you will really enjoy it, so whatever you decide- you have made the right decision.

We always do a late lunch. I don't like missing rope drop and I think that it is WAY WAY overpriced for breakfast food. It is nice to have a break in the heat of the afternoon when crowds are at their peak. My daughters 17, 7 and 3 really love eating there. It is the highlight of the trip.

I totally agree. We had an 8 am ADR there last year and it was magical walking up the almost deserted main street and seeing the castle for the first time. Plus after we ate the park was still pretty empty so we walked on some of the rides and even rode them twice with no wait.

I am too trying to to decide which meal to do at CRT. It will be me, DD5 and my mom (DH and my dad will be doing something else).

I know we would like the breakfast food, however, we are not big breakfast eaters and I prefer to just have a bowl of cereal. We will be eating at CP and I'll try to get an 8:05ADR for that day so getting in early isn't a factor for CRT.

There's a couple of things on the lunch menu that sounds good, The grilled chicken and the Major Domo's pie - has anybody ever ordered that without the vegetables. I'm not a big vegetable fan. Can you substite something for the vegetables?

Had anyone eaten dinner at CRT latey and can tell me what the menu has on it? I've looked at the one on the Disney website and it has fried chicken listed which is what I would want, but the one on the dis doesn't have it listed.

I think I'm leaning toward a late lunch or an early dinner as long as I can get food I like. That way we can do an early BBB, tour the park before eating at the castle and head back to our resort to meet up with DH and my dad.

We have eaten both breakfast and dinner there and prefer dinner more. We tried dinner for the first time in September and we had an awesome meal. We liked it so much that my DD asked to go back there for her birthday dinner when we are there in May :goodvibes

think you can order the Major Domo's without the veggies. Most of the entrees are pre-plated to turn the tables quicker. It's really like a slightly upscale shepherd's pie wit the veggies incorporated into the meal.

The old menu was around, for the most part, for at least four years and we had most of the items. My wife and I both settled on the Major Domo's and I don't see anything on the new menu to entice me away.

The Disney site menu should be correct. The dinner menu was updated recently and sometimes that sites take time to adjust the online menus. (One site still shows Chip and Dales at Chef Mickey's but they were replaced around 2007.)
