CRT---Easier to get??

I have a friend who just decided that she is going to Disney at the end of January (not around MLK Day). Granted, I know it is about 5 months out, but she was able to call today (and not first thing) and get an 8:30 am time on the day she wanted.

Is it because it is a slower time, or did she just get lucky? When we went this past January I didn't even try for CRT, but we didn't decide to even go to Disney until November.

ADRs are still pretty difficult to get, but they are not as hard as they once were due to the Askerhaus addition. Lunch is not that difficult. We've been able to get good lunch ADRs three months out for a June trip. Dinner is also pretty easy to get.

I'm guessing it's the economy. I don't have any numbers to back it up, but my guess is, not as many people are booking. On the news they are saying travel everywhere is down. What I do know for sure is this is our 3rd trip in 3 years, and this time was by far the easiest to get reservations. With our other 2 trips I really had to work hard to get ressies, this time it was a breeze. We've got ADR's at Boma, CP, Le Cellier, 1900 Park Faire, Coral Reef, Tusker House...all at great times, and all were super easy to get.

I used to have to wake up at 4am to get reservations at CRT. A couple of years ago, it became much easier to get them. IMO it's because you have to pay for it whether or not you show up (so people aren't double-booking there) and because Disney priced alot of people out of it when they raised the prices. I'm not really worried about getting reservations there for our next trip because it wasn't so hard last time.
