I called today to make the PS for our honeymoon dinners and I was able to get every we wanted (Hollywood & Vine, 'Ohanas, Yachtsman, Chef Mickeys and Rose & Crown) EXCEPT CRT!!! It's the one place I was really hoping to go, because how many times do you get to eat in the castle?!

The woman on the phone told me to keep trying right up until we leave, and if that doesn't work, to make a PS someplace else just in case, and just SHOW UP at CRT at like 5pm and hope for the best.

Does ANYONE know if that will work? I don't want to show up, wait 3 hours and have them tell me sorry, but can't help ya here. How often do tables open up when you keep calling for a PS for the restaurant??

I had my hopes up and now they're dashed! :guilty: :guilty:

Thanks!

I would still make a PS somewhere else just in case, but we HAVE had luck getting into restaurants if we get there before opening and ask nicely. Even happened for us at WCC on the 4th of July when our PSs were messed up by WDWDINE.

So go and try it, but do make sure you have a backup plan.

What dates are you going to be there and are you interested in going for breakfast instead? ;)

I'm shocked that they are full for dinner. I think this is the first time I've seen someone not get dinner at CRT. We have gotten into CRT for dinner the day of. We went first thing one morning and got in for like 530pm that night. So keep trying.

When are you going? I know that they only have limited times available right ath the 90 day mark until park hours are finalized. Then they will open up later hours. Unless it is for July 4, I doubt that you wouldn't be able to get a PS for dinner. Maybe they just haven't opened up all the times yet....

Dinner may be filling up due to the princesses now being there at lunch, too. We always had lunch at CRT, but now with the princesses, we're hoping to have dinner there instead.

we're going May 30th-June 6th....would the breakfast count as a Table Service under the Magic Your Way??

;) :cloud9:

Yes, but my reservations are for the 7th. :( One day too late.

Congratulations on your marriage and have fun on your disneymoon.

aww!!! that would have been SO sweet of you. What a shame...I knew we should have stayed until the 7th ;)

well thank you anyways, and have a wonderful time while you're there!

Have a wonderful honeymoon and keep trying also watch this board. Often people post when they are cancelling a ressie. I managed to get CRT for breakfast from someone who was kind enough to post they were cancelling. We will be there the week before you guys but with with our kids! Enjoy!

I would also make other arrangements. Keep calling too! When you check in have guest services see if they can help you, (let them know your are on your honeymoon) and yes check at the podium of CRT, they do seat standby's.

Based on your counter in your signature it looks like you will be there Memorial Day week. That is probably why they don't show any openings. As others have posted, don't give up. Call every day from now until departure and you will probably get something you can live with but do make another PS for another restaurant right now just in case. If you are able to get CRT for when you want please remember to cancel your safety PS. You would not be charged for not showing up but if you cancel someone else would be able to get a PS if they needed one.

so on that note...

does anyone have any suggestions for a restaurant in the MK area, doesn't have to be in the park, but would be sort of "romantic" and is also a part of the dining plan for a table service meal? I listed where else we're eating in my OP...

I'm going to try every day, I bet the CM's will HATE me by the time I get a ressie, if I do :rotfl:

Are you looking for places that only require one table service credit?

It's a little tougher to find romantic with one credit.. if you're going to have park hoppers, Le Cellier is what I'm thinking first hand. We've had many romantic meals there.

We love the Kona Cafe, though I'm not sure how "romantic" it would be :) San Angel Inn, also if you have park hoppers, can be romantic, but we're never terribly happy with the food, the service, or the closeness of the tables. And there is the Grand Floridian Cafe, but we've never been, so I'm not familiar with whether it has a romantic atmosphere or not.

If you wanted to use two credits, you've got the usual gamut of California Grill, Artist Point, Citricos, Narcoossees....

yeah we only want to use 1 credit because we're already using 2 for the Yachtsman...we do have the park hopper so that's a possibility, we just want to stay in the general vicinity of MK so we're not blowing a ton of time on busses, monorails etc.

I will be at WDW around the same time (May 28-June 5) and I made PS (AR's) several weeks ago and was able to get dinner at CRT, BUT it is an early one 4:45pm. WDWDine had told me that CRT was booked up that entire week for dinner because I wanted something a little later, but it made it more difficult in that the party is 8 people. Too bad CRT is the like the smallest table service restaurant at WDW.

Good luck!

almost the exact same time! They told me the same thing, I got the last Chef Mickey's PS for 8pm one night and I don't even care that it's so late, it was on the list of places we wanted to go, with everything else I was able to get pretty much whatever time I wanted. I was surprised with CRT.

Oh boy I'm there that exact time, I guess it's going to be busy. Made many PS but couln't get fantasmic dinner/show thing, been trying since last week. This is the first trip out of dozens we are not going to CM on our first night. We are going to try Ohana. I hope I'm not sorry, already I miss it.

Yes check the boards and keep calling. I've always posted if I cancel something like CRT or a hard to get PS.

I just tried calling again, and the woman on the phone said they really discourage walk ups! I was told by the last CM that I talked to yesterday that I should try it and I may get in right when they open. AHHH!!!

I got 'Ohanas booked for a Saturday, I've seen mixed reviews, I've never been, but it looks good, and my H2B is a HUGE meat lover so I think this is right up his alley :)

I was also told not to count on walkup to CRT; however, I have heard people say that they check regularly up until the morning of the day they want to dine there because there are usually cancellations the day before or the day of.
