I have CRT dinner booked for me, DH and two boys 5 & 7. None of us have eaten in the castle and I've always wanted to experience it, but I hate to waste 2 TS credits each on bad food. So...should I cancel it and try to rebook LeCellier (or maybe Chefs de France or Spoodles, never tried either) and Kona (for our MK night instead of CRT) or should I just go and experience it once? What would you do?

I canceled our CRT dinner yesterday because I decided it wasn't worth it to us. We don't want the photos that are included in the price, and from what I've read the food is mediocre at best. It's just way too much money just to eat in the castle IMO.

I voted for Kona/Le Cellier.

Get an ice cream or something like that and walk through the castle gateway. That way you can say you ate in the castle! ;)

I haven't done CRT or LeCellier but Kona is my all time favorite place for dinner at Disney - they have WONDERFUL food (didn't have anything that I would say is BAD) plus if you are on the ddp then it's only 1 credit (vs CRT which is 2)

we've struggled with this exact thing also! I've decided that two meals covered are better than one, so Le Cellier and Kona are for me! (and Chef Mickey and one to be named later......)

We're doing CRT, but only because we have a little princess who dreams of that castle at night. If I only had boys or a girl who was less into all things princess, I wouldn't bother with the castle.

I have to admit, that I'm the one who wants to eat in the castle. They wouldn't like a princess meal, but will probably like being in the castle and the swords, etc.

I would say LeCellier. CRT is nice if your sons have their heart set on the castle but for the price CRT isn't worth it in my opinion (and I have been wrong before..ask my wife).

Our family has dined at all three and we would not hesitate to choose Le Cellier and Kona over CRT. Once every four trips or so is fine for us at CRT, but we make sure to stop at LeCellier and Kona each and every trip. We'll be at both of them in June.

For me it's a no brainer. I'd eat at leCellier and Kona. But then I saw this:

None of us have eaten in the castle and I've always wanted to experience it,

Everyone should eat in Cinderella Castle at least once. I used to love eating there and it was a must do for every trip. I haven't been back since they switched over from a restaurant to a character meal. But even considering the current situation you should at least see the insides and experience the dining room once.

That's what I was thinking. I am afraid I'll regret it and this is our last chance for a LONG time. We have been to both LeCellier and Kona. So I keep going back and forth.

I think everyone should CRT once.

I've taken boys and the boys seem to enjoy as much as the girls. We (DS and myself) ate there for lunch last year (usually had breakfast) and our food was excellent. One of our best meals all week. I thought that would be it, and this fall I would not do it again.

Guess what, I booked CRT again for lunch, just something about being in the castle, looking out over Fantasyland. Now, I did pay out of pocket because I would rather use my credits elsewhere and plan to repeat that this year. Two credits were too much for a set type meal. Paying out of pocket could allow you to do both.

I've actually thought about keeping CRT and booking Lecellier anyway and then paying OOP for Ohana bfast. But we also have GC's for RFC and thought about doing that one night instead if we keep CRT. This shouldn't be so hard to decide!

I always wanted to eat in the castle too but with the bad reviews and the high prices I would rather skip it and go elsewhere.

I was going to take my 2 nieces there for their first trip but when I added the cost and compared it with the Princess Breakfast it was a no brainer...PLUS we saw alot more Princess and Ariel toboot!
