CRT: Breakfast before the park opens vs dinner?

This will be my first trip, me and my husband, and it's meant to be our belated honeymoon.

I have my heart set on doing one meal at CRT, but, am wondering if I should try a breakfast before the park opens to get good pictures of the castle and beat the crowd, or do dinner. I have DDP but I'll also be paying some OOP, so, if for breakfast, I'll may do OOP, if dinner, use 2TS. I currently have a breakfast ADR at 8:10am, but I also know there are some dinner openings for the week I'm visiting there. I need to be quick if I'll make a change, though.

My question is if there'll be any difference of atmosphere between the breakfast and dinner. Will the character interaction be similar? I love character interactions, but I'm afraid Cindy and all will prioritize kids and won't come to us during the breakfast. Will there be more families with kids in the morning, and the dinner be more romantic, or it doesn't matter? How worth it to be in the park before it opens? I know it all depends on people, but I appreciate your input.

FYI, as for character meals, we're also doing 1900 park fare for dinner (Yep, I love Cinderella :lovestruc) and Chef Mickey for breakfast. As for a romantic dinner, we're also doing Narcoosee's.

I could go either way on this one!
I like the food at dinner better. BF is fine, just nothing impressive.
Being in the park before everyone else is nice, but getting up early...not so much. I always think we'll get some great pics, but we are usually running through the park to get to our ADRs and don't end up taking the pics I thought we would. Just remember to give yourself plenty of time if you choose BF.
Either way, you're dining in the castle, so it's going to be great!

Also, Cinderella is only in the lobby downstairs to take a photo (which you will get copies of during the meal) but doesn't come around to the tables. The other princesses will come to each table. They only stay a minute or so each, long enough to sign an autograph book and pose for a few pics. I don't think you'll feel neglected because of the little ones.
Congrats on the honeymoon, I hope you both love Disney World!

Thanks! Sounds like it doesn't make a big difference. And thanks for the information about Cinderella not coming to the tables. I also heard about the step sisters being great at the 1900 PF dinner, so I'm excited

Actually, I just found a perfect dinner time (around 6pm :thumbsup2) for CRT for 2 at CRT and grabbed it right away, so, we'll do dinner instead of breakfast at CRT. I could also find 8:25am breakfast slot for Crystal Palace, so I'll do that instead :yay: I'll make sure to go early enough for taking some pictures :cool2: The hardest part is to get my DH out of his bed in time :rotfl:

Maybe this has changed in the last few months, but when we made our reservation at CRT it was my understanding that Cinderella isn't at the dinners. It's only the Fairy Godmother, no other princesses even. Just FYI - HTH :)

I have done both multiple times and my favorite by far was last year before the park opened. When the CM let us ( everyone with early ADRs) in MK this one family started running. I had no idea why, but the lady was literally dragging her kids, I mean scuffed knees and all from falling down and screaming at them:scared1:. I am a highly competive person and I thought she was a fruitcake for injuring her kid to get to the ADR ASAP, so I decided to run as well just to irk her (without dragging my DD5 though). Once we got there I found out why, the first ones checked in get to have their Daughter(s) be MK princess of the day, they get a special badge to wear and they get to lead everyone with early ADRs upstairs and get announced etc.. My DD loved it, she still talks about it.

I don't suggest dragging small children though to get there first, but it is a nice treat if you happen to be the first one to check in for the day.

It used to be Cinderella downstairs at dinner for pics and the fairy godmother and mice upstairs and they did a little show, now cinderella is downstairs and multiple other princesses are upstairs making the rounds like the other meals.

Thanks! That's really helpful to know! Hard to keep up with all the changes WDW keeps making

So your daughter was first daughter checked in? Congrats for your daughter, poor kids of the mom that went overboard. Imagine what she will do to them next time. :scared1:
