CRT and payment on dining plan

I'm on the dining plan and I reserved CRT which required immediate payment. Can I deduct those 2 TS credits and use them for other restaurants?

If you prepaid for the meal and were actually charged you don't have to use the meal plan credits on it. Just don't tell them about the meal plan when you get there. You can use those credits for whatever you want instead.

If you have already paid for the CRT reservation you can do two things:

1) Don't use dining credits for CRT since you've already paid for it. Then you can use the credits anywhere else you want.

2) Tell them when you arrive at CRT that you want to use dining credits, and the payment will be refunded.

No matter if your on the dining plan or not, when you make the reservation, they always ask for a credit card number. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't mean that they are charging you - you can still pay with the dining credits once you get there.

That's what I've read so I went ahead and reserved it but they did in fact charge it immediately. That's ok though cuz that means I can book another restaurant!

FYI: I also booked Akershus for another day which required my credit card number as well but they did not charge it. It said they will only charge it if I'm a no call no show.

Akershus is not a prepay but will always require a credit card hold as a guarantee, dining plan or no dining plan.

Thats really strange.... I better not get my CC statement and find a charge on there for 6 people at CRT!

I've done CRT twice now with the DxDP both times. Both times my credit card was charged when the reservations were made. After I noticed the charge hitting I called Disney Dining and they were able to link it to my dining plan and refund my credit card.

When you make your reservation online, there's a little check box to mark that you want to link your dining plan. You still put in your CC info to hold the res. We had a $1 pre-authorization that was deleted off our card a few days later but that's it. Same with HDDR.

I did that and it still charged it immediately.

I called in my CRT reservation by phone. I'm on the dining plan, but was still required to give a credit card. They linked my dining confirmation to the reservation, therefore my card was not charged (only the $1 preauth that eventually fell off after a couple days).
