CRT adult ordering off Kids menu?

I know at most places Disney doesn't care if an adult orders off the children's menu…is that the same for CRT? Obviously, the adult would be paying the adult price of CRT but I'm a picky eater and don't think I will like any of the items on the adult menu (was thinking chicken till I saw it had goat cheese).

I know it will be an expensive meal for me to eat off kids menu but bringing a 6 year old girl for her first visit so I want her to experience eating in the castle. I thought of doing breakfast but because that is our MNSSHP night, I'm concerned the breakfast will mean she will be up and moving too early that she will be tired before MNSSHP (I thought of going back to the hotel but I don't think she would take a nap and I think letting her swim will tire her out just as much as being in the park).

Thanks.

If you want to order off of the kids menu you will most likely be able to. I do want you to know that Disney is realy good at customizing food, so if you do nto like the cheese, just ask you server to have it left off. Look at the menu and see what I actually worked inside of the entree and what I on top or on the side. If it is sauce, on the side, it can be left off. SIdes can be subbed out as well.

I wouldn't do this if it were me. $70 or so for a plain piece of chicken, just to meet a princess?

We've never eaten there in all our visits, matter of fact we've never wanted to. For a first trip, there is so much to do. If you're into princesses, you can do a meet & photo opp without the $70 piece of chicken.

Just saying that's what I'd do, but I'm sure they will make you what you want. If I were spending that, I'd do brunch at the California Grill!

Dining in the Castle is never about the food, and it usually is not just about the Princesses. It is about an experience. When you combine the Castle, a slew of Pincesses, the Castle!!!!! and dinner.....well for us,it is worth the money.

When we went we were on the DxDDP and our server said that the kids could order off the adult or kids menu. One of my sons got the chicken fingers off the kids menu and they made it "adult portioned." It was a ton of food. He split it with my 2 year old who was free and there was still a lot left over. Same with the appetizers. Both of my sons got an adult-sized portion of the cheddar and grapes on the kids menu and it was huge and a great appetizer for them. I am sure they would do the same for an adult.

The food is fine overall, but of course you are there for the experience so I wouldn't let the menu deter you. It's great fun if your little one loves princesses and the inside of the castle is beautiful.

Took DGD, then six. She ate celery with ranch. That's it.

Not that the OP asked but I'd do this in a second if I had a special someone I wanted to take to the castle. None of the food there is worth $70 a person so what is being "debated" is how much less than that would it still be worth it to you. I have read numerous reports of adult portions of kids meals so go, enjoy your dinner and most of all enjoy the castle. wish my kiddo would go but he won't go near princesses with a 10 foot pole!

I totally agree. It's about the experience and creating joy for her little guest, so logistics are secondary!

Of course with us, DS is a huge princess fan, which is hilarious, but it certainly gets him attention from those ladies! It also means we have to eat in every castle on every trip and spend time hanging out under the sea waiting to meet Ariel multiple times each trip, lol.

OP- they will make you an adult sized portion of anything you think that looks good from the kids menu, I almost guarantee it. Also, I believe the lunch menu is slightly different from dinner for more options, though I haven't checked the menus in a while.

They are very accommodating. My daughter's friend had chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and corn, in a very large adult portion. They also let me substitute my side for another vegetable.image.jpeg

Thanks for the replies!! We have free dining for our trip and get in late our first day so we have an extra credit to be able to do a 2 credit dinner/lunch. So, I'm not worried about the cost. I'm more excited about the experience for my niece. I know my niece is going to love eating in the castle...sadly her BBB appointment will be after we eat in the castle but it was the best I could do. The chicken tender picture looked good to me so hopefully I'll be able to get that. Either way this trip is about my niece so I will make it work!

with that attitude I'm sure it will work out great! your niece is a lucky little girl!

That looks like a Swanson TV Dinner! No thanks!

TV dinners actually look better. That picture was rather shocking to me. I would have expected better for what they charge. It's been a long time since I ate there and I don't see myself ever returning! Years ago the food was presented better I guess!

Yep. You can get that exact same meal at nearly every QS restaurant in the park.

Different strokes for different folks, but dang.

Cinderella ought to fire the "royal chef" for serving that slop! I'm so glad we ate there before it became a character meal back when Aurora's father ran the place!!

It looks like standard issue disney chicken nuggets (which for chicken nuggets are pretty good - all white meat nuggets with a tasty, crispy coating), mashed potatoes (which at disney are pretty decent), and corn. Nothing exciting but it seems like it is hot and fresh and fine for what it is. Swanson tv dinners were always undercooked mashed potatoes, overcooked chicken with soft and wet breading and shriveled corn. Sorry but that comparison is hyperbole.

Hyperbole? Absolutely, but pretty warranted (and accurate) given the circumstances.

While I agree that Disney *QS* (emphasis on quick service) chicken nuggest are pretty good, we're talking about a SIGNATURE dining experience here. Is it too much to ask them to maybe have hand breaded chicken nuggets/strips? Instead, it looks like they just took an empty plate over to Cosmic Rays bay #1 or something and loaded 'er up. It's a kids' meal and all, but it's still a signature restaurant. They can do much better than that.

That's a slap in the face.
