CRT- a few questions

We're planning a trip for March 2012 and would really like to eat at CRT. However, I heard something about CRT not accepting reservations for parties larger than 6. Is this true? We have 7 in my family. Has anyone tried making a reservation for a party larger than 6 recently? I suppose we could make 2 separate reservations- for parties of 3 and 4, at the same time, but if it's possible, I'd prefer to keep it as 1 reservation. Would they allow me to make a ressie for the 7 of us over the phone, if I explained the situation to them?

My second question is regarding the menu. We haven't quite decided which meal we will make the ADR for. I would love to make it for 8 and be able to enter the park early, but we really don't want to miss the Welcome Ceremony. Breakfast later could be an option, as are lunch and dinner. Anyways, I was looking at the menu to try to decide which meal to do, but I found some conflicting information. The menu that is on Allears (which hasn't been updated for about a year) is the same as the one on the official Disney site. However, the one on here has a completely different menu and seemingly does not include the lunch menu. Can someone who has eaten at CRT recently confirm which, if either, of the menus is correct?

Finally, I have a general question about the online ADR system. What time (of day) does the system open up to allow reservations to be made for the next 180th day? I know when reservations could only be made via phone it was 7 AM. Is it also 7 AM for the online system? Or midnight?

TIA! I really appreciate it! :flower3:

The online ADR system "opens" at 6 am Eastern Time.

We have eaten there with a reservation for 13, just be aware it will tell you "your party may be seated at more than one table" but it says that if you have a party of one also.

I prefer breakfast to lunch there. Havent done dinner, so I can not comment on that.

You will miss the opening ceremony but for us I prefer the pictures infront of the castle with no one in the background.

the lunch menus are, by report, wrong in one area. We had lunch in late June and Major Domo's Favorite Pie was still available. Sometime around the first of July it was pulled from the menu. A split rib with mashed potatoes was put in its place.

The rest of the menu matches what we had in June. All but the Major Domo had been updated earlier in the year. The last menu was in place for at least five years.

Is this really true?

It is still showing on the website. I hope they still have it as I made a lunch ressie just so I could have this!

I have seen several posts on the DIS boards over the last month that have said that Major Domo's pie is gone! Sorry!

We just made an ADR for 7 people for March 5th... so you should be good to go!

Breakfast there works well at about 10:30... it gives you some time to tour, collect a fp or 2, and then eat. So if the other meals don't float your boat I'd go with that.

I just called Disney Dining and the CM I talked to said she checked a couple of different things and from what she was able to see, it is still on the menu. Maybe they decided to bring it back? :confused3

I hope so! :goodvibes

CRT not accepting reservations for parties larger than 6. Is this true?
. . . they do take ressies for larger groups
. . . based upon other ressies, you might not sit together, though

make it for 8 and be able to enter the park early, but we really don't want to miss the Welcome Ceremony
. . . would be tough
. . . eating, then running back to the entrance
. . . my bet is that there will not be enough time

Can someone who has eaten at CRT recently confirm which, if either, of the menus is correct?
. . . the menu is correct
. . . EXCEPT, no more major domo
. . . it was basically a shepard's pie
. . . now it is discontinued

What time (of day) does the system open up to allow reservations to be made for the next 180th day?
. . . telephone = 7:00am EST to 10:00pm EST
. . . online = 6:00am EST

I had a problem booking, my October ressie for a party of 6. The CM informed me, they were having "issues". She booked it, as 2 reservations, but for the same time. My concern was being split up, but she said, not to worry, they will seat our "parties" together.
